Yeah that's kinda petarded. Flail elephants are great. I think puma spearmen are one of the most pop efficient units when it comes to sieging.

Walls need water to compensate , it doesn't have to be necessarily a water map with recourses , it can also be texas with the middle lake or yukon with the (non separate) river. At this case opponent will make warships and rebuild his city around the water. This case is kind of complicated and would require accurate timings to beat. In case map doesn't have water you can just chase him around the map and kill him eventually, and spread units so they kill his villagers making walls.

Usually when somebody makes layers of wall. They aim to outboom you or go to industrial to get their power spike and win by tech superiority. You can either do that yourself if you are confident or try to harrass his gameplay, slow him down, force him to make units to stop you.

You tell them to stop using meth and just get pissed off and deal with it. Walling is annoying and those players should just go to treaty imo but to each their own I guess.

it is something that I hate and that is not beautiful to suffer, I would double it because being that he is trolling you and wasting time I save all my time in a drop so you also make him rosy for good. (only if it's a game troll). many times I have undergone these things and I got really angry getting to the point that now to play 1v1 I have to play games and those that I consider good players I have them play

If you are playing against a wall abusing opponent and you are playing as japan, I'd reccomend the shipment "Onin War"
