Russia in team

Post by bittersalt123 »

Just a few question from players who have more AOE3 brain cells than I do.

When would it be more appropriate to not ship 5 cossack like a bot and should I ship 700 wood if we're not rushing or is 5 cossack too good to not just raid with all the time? I've seen a recorded game of sompu where he shipped 5/4/13 (don't remember exact order)..

I guess my main question is what's the most optimal way to play Russia in team games? If I notice my teams not rushing I sometimes go for 700 wood instead of 5 cossack and then it seems like it's too late to even think about that shipment again.

Idk about the 5 coss question but the goal with russia in team should be to eventually get into full strel

Honestly, you should always 5coss first as Russia. Your team should always rush with a Russian player in it, unless your opponent's team has a better rush. Then, you should still send 5 coss to hold the rush.

How would you play Russia if you had a team who can't rush and who just wants to eco? Sometimes I do a fast 5 musket and 5 cossack with a team who just leave me out to dry 1x3 lol

I agree with what you said though.

crates mostly, usually 700w 700g but 700w spice trade works well on high hunt maps

Is that after 5 cossack? Do you need 600 coin in your deck as an age up option for later or do you find it unnecessary?

If you can take the map for free, why wouldn't you do so ?

no, if its a macro game and your team cant rush (jap port for example youd rather go for lategame with russ) u just do crates and upgrades. dont fb in anus but take some map with 700w first and have like 2/3 bhs on your side of the map but kinda close to middle.

hmmm ya I guess there isn't much to Russia other than that but their start is rough without shipping units but it seems @Hazza54321 and @Diarouga disagree with the 5 cossack shipment needed as your first colonial shipment every game.

2v2 is way different than 3v3. 2v2 builds should be essentially the same as 1v1, but in 3v3 I think double blockhouse starts without 5 coss first are way more viable.
