Hi.

I have a question with the VC Card. In witch conditions (Maps or MUs) do you use the VC?

I mean ,i have doubts using this Card normally I pass with 14 vills and do some manors in trĂ¡nsition un age II when i play against some civs that I am not going to have pressure normally (dutch , ports p.eg). On other Hand I try to avoid this Card when i play against CIVs that I am going to have early pressure. Sending 3 vills and then 700 Wood

What are the experience? I mean I would like to know clearly If it is convenienced to do VC ir if depends of the maps or the MU.

Thank you and sorry for the ortography and fails ( I am writing in the phone)

You want to send VC when you go for a 45v semi ff.
If you plan to build a military building before 700w, then 3v is better unless you get an age 1 TP, and even for age 2 timings, 3v tends to be better. VC shines when you go for the 700w/5v/700c 10 pikes semi ff against cav semi because it's 40 sec faster than the 3v build.

I only use it when I get a 300w start, can build an early TP and send both 3 vills and VC.
It is good against civs that like to semi-ff with cav, so France, Germany, Dutch, maybe Sioux or passive civs like Ports, Japan and China. Generally only do it on Maps where you can get 2-3 hunts close to your towncenter

So it finally changed from "is it viable?" to "when do you use it?"
Oh how far we've come

You're supposed to use it whenever GoodSpeed's not watching

I would like to say really "when is viable" . But i was writing in the public transport a bit fast..

It is only that i do not appreciate more difference in standard matches. That's because i am asking. But also use brits more in teams matches where the tactics are so different

Maybe as alligator says with a TC is different I agree with that

Reminds me of wood trickle first instead of 600w for India or 2 vils for Japs

It feels like more of a landmark considering VC was part of the game from release and never accepted as viable until ~15 years after. Jap 2v and India colonial wood trickle were omnipresent cards in every deck and occasionally sent first in some match ups in some metas. I'm not sure because I wasn't very active then, but I seem to recall 2v Jap was even the most common build for a while in the early days of TAD.

But yeah, the meta is ever changing.

Ye, in WCG jap mirrors, everybody but ryan and his mates were sending 2v first. From what I understand, the meta shifted toward kami all the time in every MU after the WCG, and people didn't adapt when shrines got nerfed.
Wood trickle is different though. The meta shifted from 600w/300e/trickle to trickle/300e and 600c or 4 sowars as your 3rd shipment, which is almost the same honestly. And before ryan convinced everybody that 5sepoys/600w/300e was superior, 5sepoys/trickle/300e was the standard card order for sepoy rush.
