Japan BO vs otto?
.... Really hard to fight a civ that has age 4 stats in age 2....
Japan BO vs otto?
If otto goes jan abus mass yumi and use tc to kill abus.
If otto goes ff you can stay in age 2 and mass ashi + ship tc card to kill cannons and to call the big minutemen army, or semi ff with 600w 600c and use ashi/flaming arrows. After mams are down make a lot of yumi.
At least that is what Ive seen people do.

A good otto will not let his adbus get close to the tc often. I think almost all jans just owns Japan straight up. That town center card still takes way too many shots to take down an infinite hp Janissary....yurashic wrote:If otto goes jan abus mass yumi and use tc to kill abus.

Your strategy looks good but it''s too standard and nothing I do will work because I''ll be stuck in the town center the whole game.

- Send CM (enlist irregulars) then 600w or 5 yumi if you have to. Cancelling Port alliance for Jap isolation as soon as you scout his forward rax is extra safe but not necessary if you sent CM. This allows you to make some extra clubs at the expense of your boom. The good part about CM is that you can keep booming while your TC deals with their army.
- Build your barracks very far in the back of your base so that if he wants to kill it he has to move away from your TC, allowing you to gather resources. Always try to have a vill gathering wood in a location outside your base so that it can hide a barracks if necessary.
- Dont forget to keep shrine booming. You can hold a rush while booming to /150+ pop if you do it right.
Most importantly, dont fight until you can win. Hide your yumi until youre sure he cant just pick them off for free with his superior mass. You sent CM so your TC should be fine for at least a while. 2-hitting jans instead of 3-hitting them is a big deal.

Vs a ff, ff ashi/arrows should win.
Vs a jan/abus, go full yumis behind a wall, add nagis when your eco allows you to do that.
Vs a jan rush, just resign, your best chance is to wall your base and hit and run with 5 yumis.

Jan rush is best way to lose the mu actually. Jan abus is the best way to win, but ff is the easiest way to win on most maps. Ashi arrows loses to jan cannon mams. People make the mistake to not ship 5 abus. 9 abus can keep ashi arrow at bay for ages while jans and cannon siege down all the shrines and wonders.

Otto is one of those civ that if you prepare for a rush and they decide to ff then you''re fucked. It''s really hard to predict what an otto is going to do all the time.calmyourtits wrote:You sending CM?

Would you send it regardless even if you''re going age 3? It seems like it might be good vs cannons at least.calmyourtits wrote:Send it late

Ofc but he is in my town at 5min, I can''t wall my whole base, just making sure my yumis can hit and run. But since he doesn''t let me build my rax, I have only 5yumis from HC and vs 15jans, that''s not enough, even with walls.calmyourtits wrote:You walling?

Try hiding rax, or building it very far back at least.
