French vs British (1st person gameplay)

Hi guys, I've done this one time before: post a video and ask what I could have done better and why I lost.

Yesterday I played a match on Arkansas, French (me) vs British. I went for a semi FF and did pretty well. But then he made canons and that was a lot harder for me to deal with it. I also think I lost because of that. What do you guys think? Why did I lose and what did I right and wrong? Thanks!

Wrong build order :-/ I suggest that you watch BlackStar_OP vs kynesie on siberia or dim100 vs spadel on kamchatka.

His eco is better than yours. If you're not going to be aggressive in early fortress, at least send 1000w 1000g to make up for the eco defecit. Also moar market upgrades and age with 400w

Yes, that I choose 500f was a big mistake because I played too many Brits xD

But thanks though both. Needed more eco.

I think you wrong to send tower with 200 gold crates. Although many players on this forum want convince me to play Semi-ff I still think bow pikes is better. Of course it's just a opinion made because of my experience. I just have got more difficulties when I make semi ff but when I am doing bow pikes rush it's all easier. Of course a good brit player still win that too.

@14:22 you lost too many goons, lets your skirms fight the infantry that's what theyre there for

. You also seemed to have overmassed goons at some points, and your second TC wasn't in the best, imo should've been by that gold mine in the middle top of the map across the river. Also When someone is going for cannons (especially this guy which didn't have any stable units) raids are really effective. When you have just won a big fight, it can be good to raid hard in his gathering location to prevent him from remassing. You kindda just let him remass after every fight, and since hes brit hes gonna remass better than you.

Yes, I agree with your words. I see where I went wrong. That TC placement was really bad indeed. I couldn't defend it.

And @Marco1698: I didn't send a tower + 200 gold here. I went for the other bad option: 500 food haha. (@3:18)

ye I know. I mean in general aging with 400 wood always.

I use the building rotator, you can dowload that file on RTS sanc.

Well xb/pike may be effective but it's still a weak composition. Brit musks are superior. So semi seems legit

700w/4cdb/(optional 8xb)/700g press with pure musk. slow his boom/force him to sacrifice eco/get some vills then 2nd gold up during transition, add canon and skirm and you will win most brit! and unless trea no tp, you want to push early
by the time he begins to outmass you (around 9.30) and has his musks up, u are age3 with musk/skirm and canon, that's the point
or the classic semi cav I don't think brit can do much vs that neither. they just can't get that lb/goon mass in time

Xbow sux. You won't outmass him, he'll have 5 less lbs and will hold your rush with a better eco and a better late age2.

Brit don't have fast age up so they'll likely fight you in colonial and they will have hard time vs falcs.
So imo best strats are cav semi and semi 30 musk.

Yes, I prefer a semi FF over a colonial fight. You just have a much bigger chance to win vs British in age 3. British can remass much more quickly age 2 so it''s hard to deal with that if you are in age 2 as well.

brit mass less quickly in age2 that's why 2rax musk works, otherwise it wouldn't..
but they win late colonial, that's also why french has to go age3 at some point.

Never xbow pike Brits, they make longbows and you lose. If you are allowed to age, why not? You need cuirs vs longbows and cannons vs muskets, colonial is a bad idea.

Yea, being a primarily brits player, i dread this MU purely for the french FF, or semi-FF.
I just get kited 2 death if they successfully pull it off or destroyed by falcs. I do however take this MU as many players like to double rax rush brits thinking it will counter the boom, but with a half-boom (brits) its easily countered imo.
