Sounds interesting. Funny how such a basic civ (not many options compared to others) still have some different strategies on certain maps. I would say, go test it!yurashic wrote:On sonora it might be good to build 2 tps, ship 300w first and get third tp + house, same for patagonia. Even though it wont work if you ff, because you need 3v to gather food/gold.wickedcossack wrote:Thats actually a pretty interesting idea @yurashic. Ottos nearly always get a 2nd tp so it makes sense to get it asap. Then its just looking at 3vils vs trickle. Whats the trickle, 1.5p/s ? A mine is 0.6, so 3 vils on a mine is 1.8p/s. In reality it will be slightly less than 1.8 though as vils have to move about to garrison and move to other mines. Also good for shitty coin maps.
Ah only problem is you are idling your explorer for a long time. Vs a civ like india with 2 explorers theyre going to pick up like 10 treasures to your 1. Maybe a sonora strategy where you get TPs and the treasures are bloody awful anyhows.
Also I think it would be viable to do 2tp ->' gold tricle ->' 700c ->' 700w ->' church card ->' 1000w ->' 2 falc. Because of 2 starting tps you can stick in the church card and send 1000w instead of 8 jans for 15 church jans. Compared to normal 1tp ->' 3v ->' 700c ->' 700w ->' 8 jans ->' 2 falc you get 7 more jans at the time you need to push and still have your juicy 8 jans card available.

I tested, and here is the recorded game. It is in single player mode vs expert PC on UI 1.7 Great Plains. I did not pick up 95 wood, 210 exp and 140 food for the purpose of experiment, even though I really wanted to.
At a certain point in the game my units and PC units start shooting the invisible tapir - part of the custom map, so dont mind this.
I am quite happy with the build. Any comments would be appreciated.

Watching it now. I suggest you try it on a map that's not Great Plains (like Pata or Sonora) because the early xp is very influencial here and because you won't always get the middle tp. And the slow speed ingame means that even on "Play Fast" it's very slow, lol

Lol, finally finished. I like the idea with 2 trade posts. The coin trickle gives you 300 coin once you need it to age to fortress. However, spending another 800 resources on church doesn't seem very effective. You also need to send 1000w for it, which means it's a HUGE investment. There should be better things to do with 2 trades posts so early.
Strategy Wall
It was medium speed in game, i dont know why you think it is slow. I remember Interjection said that with max graphics recorded games run slower, so probably that is the case.
Church idea is 15 jans for 1 fortress and 1 colonial shipment + 100 w for church. It is like you ship 5+8 jans, so you will have 13 without church investment. Idk.
May be you could just ship 5 jans for speed and then cannons followed by 8 jans. Combine it with tower age up and push really fast. Something similar to Piroshiki ff.
Or you could just save the shipment. I used this in QS now and saved the shipment, I had 3 of them available after I hit fortress. I still lost that game though.
May be you could do something like ship 600 c after 700 w and get very early mams, dont think it will work though. "Shipping mamelukes does not win you the game." - Interjection.

Mamelukes + units that deal damage win you the game I don't know why the recording is so slow, I got crappy graphics, but okay. I normally don't send 5 jans, so this strategy only helps if you send 5 jans in the first place. However, I am still interested in 2tp's against 3 vills.
If you ageup time not much slower if you don't have the first batch of xp right away? Like on another map?

Here is another rec vs PC, this time I try 2tp ->' gold tricle ->' tower age up ->' 700c ->' 700w ->' 5 jan ->' 2 falc.
Map is UI 1.7 Saguenay. I played kinda sloppy and used only basic treasures for experiment. This build is very agressive and in my opnion a good choice against japanese and agressive civilisations like Russia or Aztec which are hard to beat in colonial. What is sad is that you dont have 400 w from aging, so you have to wait for a long time to build a rax ->' 5 less jans in transition and housing problems after 8 jan shipment.

I ment to say that whoops, thanks. Edited the post.diarouga wrote:Actually br semi is 4vills/700g/700wbramboy wrote:For Sioux:
Bow rider age 2:
3 vills on food crates, dont collect wood/coin crates. Send 3 vills and ageup with 15 vills
Age with 400w. Build a market and research hunting dogs and placer mines. Build 2 stables from your ageup wood. Send 4 vills, train bow riders and raid with them. Send 700g and proceed to train bow riders. You can ship either cav hp, 2 dogs, or smoke signals (upgrades explorer) after this. Try to kill as many vills as you can and use the dog soldier big button from your town center (costs 1500f) at around 15-18 mins to call 5-6 dog soldiers and win the game.
Use this vs Russia, Iroquois, Sioux, and Aztecs
Bow rider semi:
3 vills on food crates, dont collect wood/coin crates. Send 3 vills and ageup with 15 vills
Age with 400w. Build a market and research hunting dogs and placer mines. Build a TP. Build another tp and a stable from your ageup wood. Train 5 bow riders and raid with them. Send 700c and age up. Send 700w for a warhut and the elite bow rider upgrade. Save the extra wood for a) another warhut to secure resources later or b) the elite axe rider upgrade if your opponent is mixing a lot of light infantry (longbow, skirmisher). Ship 9 wakina and 3 dog soldiers when you hit the fortress age.
Axe rider semi
Same as above, but train 4 axe riders and dont research elite bow riders unless your opponent mixes a lot of cav.

Dear forum-goers,
Please make a new thread whenever you post a new build so that each build can be discussed in its own thread. Eventually the thread may be lost in a sea of other threads, however it will always be easy to find the discussion for a certain build since everything will be linked in the OP.
Thanks

Drop this in as well if you would. British FF similar to a piro ff

Chinese Build by h20, pulled from the china thread

I'm going to attempt help build up this wall. I will try to find replays from players better than myself to develop a build order for each civilization and post a link to it when I think it is suitable. I will look for a samwise12 build next.

I got permission from h2O to post his guide. Its even been spellchecked and edited for grammar by yours truly! (I asked first of course) Recs are available as well, though I didnt check them to make sure they worked. I pulled them directly from the rts -sanc guide, so they should work.diarouga wrote:H2O did but it is outdated even if some tips are usefull.shirine wrote:no one did a japanese guides guys?

It would be great if incog would add it to the wall
I can also make the banner for my natives guide (in game) on sunday if you tell me the size it needs to be. I assume it is 800x100 but there could be some shenanigans i dont know about
This is what I have now.
