In my experience even with culverins it's hard to hit them

against mass infantry they're pretty weak, however
their main drawback is that they're available from age IV on

light cannon is more like culverin than falconet. they did poor damage to infantry, but they're good at countering cannons.

One of their greatest qualities is that their shooting and moving stance is the same so they won't pack/unpack at the worst possible times
