Telethon 2018 Rewards Suggestions

Post by fightinfrenchman »

As you've probably heard, the annual Basement Telethon is going to take place soon, January 12-14 (starting at 6:30 pm EST). We are still in the planning stages, but we'd like to hear from the community what rewards they would like to see. Make sure to break your suggestions down between individual rewards (things individual people get for their donations) and group rewards (things that get released when the entire group donates a certain amount). Thanks in advance!

Currently the only reward we have planned is that, if the entire group raises the goal of $5000, the entire Basement crew (yes, all of them) will put on Scream masks and perform Michael Jackson's Thriller dance, with evil cheadar taking the role of Michael Jackson.

For a donation of $1000USD we bring in the player for a classic spring 4v4 bashment lan game served with dominoes and soda, then a Halloween cabin trip.

Well there may be a slight delay with some of the 2017 rewards. However I do guarantee we will release the video rewards!

Doesn't MSF msuggle "migrants" into Europe? Lame. You should replace with a children's or medical charity or something, or give people a choice as to which charity their money goes to. :hmm:

@lejend Pretty sure MSF doesn't engage in illicit international crimes. They are a medical charity.

MSF has actually been suspected of human trafficking and organ harvesting, but that's the deal with these huge foundation in general. Charities are just loopholes for criminal conduct. Either way the intentions are still good so the Telethon is still a cool event. It is perhaps not important to always do the right thing and instead sometimes just focus on having some fun.
Pay more attention to detail.

I still think having a list of charities and letting people pick which to donate to, would be ebtter.

Again, what you think is both not relevant and simply incorrect. Why would you think you know what happened last year when you didn't even donate?

Maybe it was 2016. If your goal is to raise as much money as possible, having a variety of charities covering most people's preferences would be ideal. If you have only one charity, then only people who like that one charity will donate. It's just a suggestion.

Plenty of people like Doctors without Borders. Also we didn't have one in 2016
