Re: Next Meetup
you were unlucky twice. You think everyone who eats there can't finish their food cause it's bad or gets sick?bwinner1 wrote:Lukas_L99 wrote:bwinner1 wrote:If it was somewhere else I would considere it, but I have been twice on Amsterdam and that's definitly the worst city I have been as a tourist. Mainly because food is soooo terrible that it's not acceptable, plus the life is very expensiv overall.
Lol whats so horrible about it? You probably have been unlucky and went to some bad restaurants. No way all the food there is bad. Only bad thing i experienced was the disgusting smell of weed on the streets.
Idk the 1st time I went there was the only time I couldn't finish the food in a restaurant and the 2nd time I forced me to eat this dutch shit and I was sick for the reminding part of my trip due to this.
And I am really not complicated about food : I eat everything and really didn't have any problem in any other country. Maybe I was unlucky twice then but I don't think so...

Re: Next Meetup
Can't expect someone to like something he had a bad experience with lol. Totally justified.
Re: Next Meetup
well saying that all the food in an entire city is terrible based off of 2 experiences isn't exactly amazing either.

Re: Next Meetup
But tbh in a normal country this restaurant would close in a short time. That being said I have never been to the US, so maybe it's standard for you, but for me that's inacceptable. And when you have the two worst food experience (by far) for the 2 only time you go to Amsterdam, it probably means something...

Ye here in the US it is standard to get sick from food at all of our restaurants. It happens literally every day to me

Re: Next Meetup
No a restaurant wouldnt close if one person gets sick or one person has a bad experience. A restaurant would close if that happened consistently. So since all the restaurants in Amsterdam haven't closed, the logical conclusion is that people aren't regularly getting sick and aren't regularly not liking their food and that you just had a bad experience. Also take into consideration that Amsterdam is constantly rated as being one of the the top food cities in the world.bwinner1 wrote:But tbh in a normal country this restaurant would close in a short time. Re: Next Meetup
well it's kinda like any tourist city i guess, most tourists dunno where to go, so they end up in tourist traps where the food is cheap and shit, or alright yet overpriced. I had the same experience in Rome, when we went to the Vatican, we were hungry, so we ate something along the strip toward the vatican. It was so disappointing and crap. But when we ate in place near our hotel, which was away from the center and the tourist traps, we found many places with great food.
Re: Next Meetup
The area around Centraal is extremely touristic and you can easily be in such a situation. I am here for almost a year and have never had any issue. I m not diminishing your experience, but it's sad that you have a bad image of this beautiful city. @bwinner if you remember can you pm where you went?

Reminds me of my drunk dad when he woke up on Dubai Airport, while drinking, the previous night.

How often do you eat happy meals, gib-son? And do you collect all the toys?

Pros: Plenty of nice sites in central city, and the view is in general beautiful. Besides, cruising and cycling are cool experiences here.
Cons: Price gets high when it's concerned with entertainments; out of city center services and stores become too scattered.
just my opinion
