In the first rounds (BO5) they have to draft maps. In the BO9 it's a set order I believe.

The Bo5 will still be in that order, but they pick/ban maps that will actually be played.

Eg, P1 might pick Baja & P2 picks New England. These maps cannot be vetoed,
Then P1 vetoes High Plains & P2 vetoes Pampas Sierras
P1 picks Florida & P2 picks Thar Desert
Finally P1 vetoes Kamchatka & P2 vetoes Deccan.
This leaves Fertile Crescent left over which will also be played.

Resulting in a Bo5 with the maps as:

Baja California
Thar Desert
New England
Fertile Crescent
Florida

This is what was posted in the news thread:

Before each best of five series, a live map draft will occur. Players will pick & veto maps from the list above until 5 remain.

How will this work?
Top seed: Picks 1 of the nine maps, this WILL appear in their Bo5
Lower seed: Picks 1 of the nine maps, this WILL appear in their Bo5

Top seed: VETOs one of the remaining maps
Lower seed: VETOs one of the remaining maps

Top seed: Picks 1 of the nine maps, this WILL appear in their Bo5
Lower seed: Picks 1 of the nine maps, this WILL appear in their Bo5

Top seed: VETOs one of the remaining maps
Lower seed: VETOs one of the remaining maps

This will determine 5 maps to be played (including the remaining unpicked/unvetoed map). Those maps will be played in the same order that they would usually occur in a best of nine.
