EE2 Thread.
EE2 Thread.
Hi, if anybody played Empire Earth 2 or still plays it from time to time. Me, @tedere12 and the legendary Vane still plays it on the fan patch server which there exists a small community of players, if someone wishes to give the game a try pm me or one of the people mentioned on how to acess the fan patch servers.
The game itself is also an RTS but it differs alot from aoe3 it is heavily based on the one´s mechanics rather than BO or Decision making, in addition there is implemented an epoch system that goes from 1-15 (1. Stone Age .... 15 Synthetic Age)
The base vanilla game Contains 14 civ, whilst AOS expansion adds another 4 new civs + the ability to create custom civs (eg. Vanedonia).
I would like to thank @analworsher9 for introducing me into this game and @edvardteatx id like to thank for no reason, but i think its nice to thank him anyways.

Re: EE2 Thread.
yeah if anyone wants to come and play with us it'd be cool since the game is dead pretty much, I can share the game to anyone that's willing to try it out.

I've always wondered: Does "high level" EE ever go to the later ages? It always seemed like a major design flaw to me that most of the ages would likely never be reached in a real game.

I used to love that game. Haven’t played in years. What do I need to set it up?

Re: EE2 Thread.
I only played EE1, but it's already too imbalanced with 2-3 ages difference. Then there is the aircraft problem - eg. you rush successfully and boom to ageX (aircrafts) vs age VIII (boat antiair, nothing on landmaps). You can decide the starting and end epoch in the settings to avoid this, but i think most long EE1 games ended at this point.Goodspeed wrote:I've always wondered: Does "high level" EE ever go to the later ages? Well, obviously you need to have the game installed itself, the vanilla version will do. And then you need to download the fan patch which is downloadable here https://www.ee2.eu/patch/Zutazuta wrote:I used to love that game. Haven’t played in years. What do I need to set it up?
Re: EE2 Thread.
It depends, on the starting epoch imo, if the both players are around the same level rushes usually wont work and the game can drag on. Tech advantage is always very nice.Goodspeed wrote:I've always wondered: Does "high level" EE ever go to the later ages? Re: EE2 Thread.
2-3 ages difference too unbalanced? Yeah maybe but it is important which. If its in the last epochs its very significant, 13th epoch gives you ability to build nuclear ICBM silos, and boy when they explode they are huge, in order combat this you need anti missile systems and no, you cant build them in 10th epoch which is like ww1 erasupahons wrote:I only played EE1, but it's already too imbalanced with 2-3 ages difference. Re: EE2 Thread.
The wide epoch range is there to add variety to the game rather than having any strategic value. Tech advantage is indeed an issue in this game and very unaesthetic (bows vs tanks), but locking epoch ranges fixes that.

Re: EE2 Thread.
You play FFAs?
I played a decent amount of EE1 back in the day. Never multiplayer, I didn't think that game would work in multiplayer because of the many ages.
Might give this a try.
One of you guys is going to have to do a sales pitch, in which at least all of the following subjects are addressed:
- Build order variety
- Strategic depth
- Unit counter system
- Importance of economy management
- RNG factor
- Lag in multiplayer
Also:
- What is the average age a typical 1v1 game ends in?
- Where's the community?
