I have great memories of Empire at War, but I'm afraid if I play it now I will be disappointed. Is anyone still playing that competitively?Vinyanyérë wrote:fight me in

@thomasgreen6 @musketeer925
I will add you guys on discord, could do some comp or 2v2's this weekend with @EAGLEMUT. @Blastkiller I don't know if you can join with the 2nd expansion or not, it could be like TAD/TWC actually I really don't recall.
@zoom
Top 20 is pretty good, it used to be fairly popular. If are up to playing them let me know.

Hah! I know why you would want to get the disc from your parents house, because the game has gotten very expensive since EA lost the right to the game and you cant buy a digital copy anywhere.Vinyanyérë wrote:fight me in

0 AD has a text tutorial for economic units. Just played vs a medium bot and got crushed by 3rd age artillery pieces that are unkillable by 2nd age units... Seems like an interesting game tho, the aesthetic is something i would have expected in AoE4

@don_artie did you play this game?Goodspeed wrote:viewtopic.php?f=318&t=7053
I still highly recommend Knights and MerchantsI play Knights and Merchants every now and then, slower paced (every game is 60+ treaty) with a more complex eco. More base building than military action but I like it that way, and the battles are still quite fun. Game's from 1998, didn't come with a working multiplayer, was hardly noticed by the public and yet I can find 4v4s in 2016. Should tell you something about how good it is.

I tried 0 AD and found the UI unreadable... which was sad since a lot of concept seemed really interesting (the restrictive building placement can be quite frustrating though...harcha wrote:0 AD has a text tutorial for economic units. ESOC : came for the game, stayed for the drama.

basically in 1998 or 1999 or so anno 1602, knights and merchants and age of empires came out. for me it's #1 knights and merchants #2 anno 1602 and #3 age of empires from those 3 :)
Re: Other RTS - does anyone else have these?

Completed Command & Conquer 3 campaign this year, had the disc as a kid but it wouldn't run on my pc...WickedCossack wrote:Hi I'm a big fan of the old classic RTS games, brought Command & Conquer 3 recently and enjoying the campaign.
Not expecting any response really but in case anyone has any of the following and wants to play online (super noob level, 1v1, team, vs comp) please let me know, message me on discord or leave a post. Always more enjoyable if you vaguely know the people you're playing with ...
Just biding my time till the release of Circle Empires Rivals ... the trolliest RTS game of all time.
- Command and Conquer 3 (Main and/or expansion) - Their community now host their own servers and have a launcher like ESOC which is cool.
Dawn of War 1 (Any expansion)
Dawn of War 2 (Any expansion)
Besides from that really enjoying Stronghold series (Original, Crusader and Warlords) and HoMM3.

Re: Other RTS - does anyone else have these?
We play with the same time settings except still x1.5 after peacetime because on the KOTH map post-PT can still take some time to finish.
The rules are: everyone starts with a 30 min timer. Attacking bases is not allowed. There is a 1x1 square in the middle (which is an open battlefield), and whoever has a military unit on that square starts their timer. Whoever reaches 0 first wins, i.e. whoever reaches 30 min of "occupying" the middle square first.
The map is an edited version of back in the desert.
I'm not really interested in playing a "normal" game tbh. It's impossible to find balanced teams on our level, and the skill difference would be too big. You'd either stomp or carry us. At least with KOTH we can 2v1

âOther RTSâ implies aoe3 is actually an are tee ess which is demonstrably false. It is a revolutionary tower defense/MOBA hybrid.

Alright I see, could be fun. What sorta army's do you work with at 60?Goodspeed wrote:We play with the same time settings except still x1.5 after peacetime because on the KOTH map post-PT can still take some time to finish.
