Do you watch “Mukbangs”
I have a coworker who very obviously watches mukbangs at her desk during lunch. This afternoon she watched someone eat a giant grilled cheese. I think it was this video
She sometimes tries to show me and others the Mukbangs. She is so open about it that I almost have to respect it.

Re: Do you watch “Mukbangs”
Bro what the fuck the internet is a sick place. Mukbangs are disgusting but this channel is somehow worse because of its complete, proud insincerity:
1) She doesn't even eat the grilled cheese. She takes one bite on camera, and the rest of the food sits there the whole video.
2) Ridiculous forced perspective. The (surely maximized) depth of field isn't even large enough to keep both the food and her in focus, what the fuck. It's like a normal amount of food, and she doesn't even eat it.
3) She doesn't even eat, she just tells a story.
4) The person off camera is eating some of the food.
5) I can't even focus on the person telling the story which is the entire content of the video because half the screen is a shot of a normal amount of food 6-inches away from the lens.
Is this a kink? Is the forced perspective click-bait really working that well and this category is that popular that their viewers aren't repeat, but they still get views?
I don't get it. I don't get it. Is this how Boomers feel everyday? Who clicks this shit. What the fuck.

Re: Do you watch “Mukbangs”
@deleted_user4 It's actually popular with all ages. Eating together is an important cultural thing in Korea, a way to socialize and bond with your friends, family and significant others. Nowadays, more and more Koreans move to the big city, can only afford small apartments and don't find a significant other (due to different reasons) or friends as easily, feeling alienated. So Mukbangs are giving those people a means to eat "together" with someone - that can be a pretty woman, a funny "friend" guy or others catering to more specific things.
At least that's how I understood it when my Korean friend explained it

Maybe, but the basement boys have figured out that "real life" threads don't show up in active threads anymore. Who's going to stop them from posting it here?occamslightsaber wrote:This should be under “real life” btw.
