I do (except for yemshi). Hazza and Osmane also joined from time to time. But I feel like the 3 of us were playing all the time.BrookG wrote:You don't remember all the OG lads, Jesus, me, yemshialigator92 wrote:I mostly remember you for being a main stay in the EP obsession with Jerom and myself. Recognizing the Basement as people of color is a long-overdue step in the quest for racial justice on ESOC.pecelot wrote:sorry for all my mistakes; please believe me I'm not a racist.

How many mods have there been in the history of ESOC?

Too few, for my liking! Either way, definitely not too many.occamslightsaber wrote:How many mods have there been in the history of ESOC?

Not sure what this topic is about.
Is it about having one of those moments like "I used to be this unruly kid but as I grew up I realised the trick to not being seen as 'one of those guys' is to blend in with the environment, so now I came back to rewind the past and erase that impression you had about me, so I can reinsert myself in your memory as one of you "?

What is so hard to understand about someone wanting to make amends for their past for its own sake? You have projected some sort of speech-as-a-social-status-tool reasoning behind what looks like a clarifying tying of loose ends.Dolan wrote:Not sure what this topic is about.

@Imperial Noob
Nothing wrong with that. It's a common reflex for people to revisit their past and retrofit their current, changed self to their past self, so that they don't feel so cringe about their past.
But maybe it's better to keep it cringe, because that's what makes you want to grow out of it.

Re: The Worst Moderator in the History of ESOC — AAR & AMA
I'm not sure that's a correct conclusion. It wasn't my intention to depict myself as some sort of a hero, as I definitely wasn't one, but if you desperately wanted to confront me with the environment, you'd see that I rarely ever took a conformist approach.Dolan wrote:Not sure what this topic is about.

What I was trying to achieve was to shed some light on internal struggles in the past, giving the community a clearer picture of what was happening behind the scenes. That's what the AAR stands for, really. I think enough time has passed for me and others involved to become unattached to it, to a lesser or greater extent, from an emotional standpoint, which on its own presents an opportunity to reflect on past dealings and learn about a different perspective.
It is what it is, I can't change what's been dealt or said. It's not about having grown up or matured so much that I now see that my whole past life was a big lie or something. However, with years passing on, sometimes you just wonder if what you did was right — and each time you come back to it, it becomes ever so intelligible that it wasn't. Therefore, I brought it up again to explain and apologise.
Like I said, personally I still believe that words are just words, especially online, coming from strangers. But using derogatory terms just because you can or to provoke a certain reaction may just not be appropriate. I can live with people having various opinions about my antics, it certainly hasn't become my life goal to change it. The OP serves another purpose — of closing a chapter. Not to beg to be accepted — but it gives you the tools to comprehend.
