Do you not understand that pharma companies have zero interest in developing a vaccine that can provide immunity for life? Why would they do that when keeping people sick or fearful of getting sick is more profitable.
They've been doing that for decades with the common flu. Technically they could have created a bundle vaccine that could have covered as many seasonal flu strains as possible, but selling symptomatic medicine is more profitable, so why invest in developing a catch-all flu vaccine? That's the logic.

Do you? It seems you dont understand how viral mutations work. There were couple variants iirc even before vaccine was given to people. Virus can mutate for a host of reasons unrelated to vaccines as well. You are never going to vaccinate enough people before virus has chance to mutate.

A universal flu vaccine has been researched for decades already. And for some reason, progress keeps being rly slow.
Like recently they reported that they just passed phase 1 of clinical trials, so it's only known that their vaccine is safe but not if it also works.

Yeah, it's difficult, because if they sell a universal flu vaccine, they insta-lose a huge market for treating the flu with adjuvants (neurofen, ibuprofen, etc). People would just get the uni-flu vaccine and won't buy any such medication for treating seasonal flu. Less money to milk, so interest is pretty low for this project.

Wouldn't be surprised if pharma companies specially from US make the vaccine intentionally of short term use so as to keep on selling it at premium for years to come. Shame if they do this. Should be fined and their facilities commandeered. And yeah the corporate veil should be broken and top bulls should go to prison. Not the white collar ones.

Yea and worst of this situation is that often they benefit from findings from primary research done in public universities on taxpayers' money. They take this intellectual property for free and use it to develop their own commercial medicines.

The fundamental problem is that you come up with statements without providing proper reasoning for them. Its hard to take that seriously. There are infinite things I can come up with that we can't falsify, but those are not things we believe in. Your arguments ultimately boil down to 'could be', which is insufficient by all reasonable standards.

The fundamental issue is that you are thinking with emotions, thinking in raw numbers, and thinking this is simply a medical problem than what it really is. Even if you dismiss "new" things or "could be" things, rest of them are simply logical extensions of things that have already happened. There is simply no justifiable reason for vaccination let alone forced vaccination, that too with experimental technologies. Even the most deadliest of pandemics in stone age managed to kill 1/3rd of population of the area. This virus doesn't even come close to scratching the surface. I can't imagine what the situation would have been if say something similar to bubonic plague happened today. This hysteria is fucking ridiculous.
