Oh, right, that's what he meant. Should've mentioned the group specifically then. Anti-fascist in no way means you agree with Antifa in the same way that being anti-communist doesn't mean you agree with whatever extremist group decided to also label themselves that.
Besides, Antifa is pretty US-specific (correct if wrong).

They exist in Belgium/Holland/Germany as well. In BE/HL they came from the "hacker" movement (hacking houses that are empty and living in them, dunno how it's called in eng). You also see it alot in the punk scene, lot of young people run around with batches of antifasistic nature. (it can be question how involved they where ofc) I doubt that it's the same organisation as in the US. But it looks like the same movement from what I gather here.

Far left socialist. More nuanced:

I do not believe people are born with equal chances. I dont even think its close. Some people are literally superior to others in every aspect due to sheer luck. Thats the naselime, the thing that I think sounds as a reasonable political idea. In reality, I actually think there is no free will, which would mean people cant actually help doing what theyre doing. I also believe that money is not the key to happiness at all, and I believe that the capitalist system just ends up benefittong a few rich people and large companies.

Realistically as of now I do not see a full on state driven economy being better, but I do think the very rich few and the few companies feasting on the poor should be toned back by the state. I believe that ideally the world should tax more and try to at least somewhat make up for capitalisms tendency to incorrectly distribute money and provide chancepoor people a worthy life. I also believe that eventually the world will become so developed that we dont need the efficiency that comes with capitalism anymore and that we will eventually move onto a very limited capitalist system or a somewhat less regulated communist system.

I also think playing dice with our planet is unwise so I am in favor of green policies, building our society into a sustainable one, and Im usually against political correctness nonsense.

That being said, if the idea of unequal chances in life is believed to be not true, my entire conviction is ridiculous.

Compared to a European I'm going to appear very far right when in reality I'm just moderate right. I don't think money just falls from the sky and being left in the USA will get you nowhere and will just disappoint you.

If we were bees we would want the maximum amount of freedom within a hive that was sustainable. i.e we would want to get as close to the tipping point of unsustainability as possible without over-stepping, this is why the most successful political parties in developed nations are very mildly centre-right (if you like the left/right paradigm- personally I think it is outdated.)
We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created by the you know, you know the thing.

I partially and completely agree and disagree with everyone and everything in this thread. I identify as policyfluid and I demand my policyfluidity to be celebrated or I will expose your bigoted policyism to the world by rioting on the streets with my fellow fluids, breaking windows and setting fire to cars until this world becomes a better place because there should be no place for violence and hatred.

As a European, I did not experience money falling from the sky as well. But please note that there are quite a lot of sociological studies that show that over 90% of people believe of themselves being 'moderate' or in the 'middle of the political spectrum'.

Observing events in the US from a distance, I get the feeling that people over there use the terms 'right' and 'left' rather as a branding tool, not as a foundation for serious political discussion. It seems to be much more about 'I am in this group, the other group is wrong!'. Comparable to people who wear solely either Adidas or Nike sports clothes and flame people of the other group.
As soon as you denounce an arbitrary policy measure as being 'leftist' or 'rightist' you can be sure that half of the US will protest against it.

On the other hand, observations made from a distance can be biased heavily as well, so maybe it is not as bad as it seems.

*Edit: I think of myself of being a 'sozialliberall'. Maybe this term is not easily translatable into a US context, but it is roughly the kind of politics done in Germany in the 70's. I would describe it as a combination of pragmatism, valuing social security and the believe that free markets (and especially competition) are good in general, but that, from a microeconomic perspective, many markets are not comparable with each other, making it necessary sometimes to give markets a structure in order to make fair competition possible.
Whatever is written above: this is no financial advice.
