Home workouts are boring, change my mind. How the f am I supposed to stay motivated?

Could you not cycle a few miles out to the edge first?BrookG wrote:I genuinely wish, though I'm living in a city.chris1089 wrote:Go cycling in countryside

Re: ESOC Fitness Thread
i can imagine many people are going to be going to the gym 5-7 days a week after lockdown is lifted and as summer is nearby I may do so as well
Re: ESOC Fitness Thread
Firstly, weight lifting is more challenging. Secondly, gym is the place associated with the activity. Although, I have somewhat separated the areas I work/rest/workout/eat in my home, walking a meter away to exercise doesn't really help with staying motivated. Not very fond of running, yet I went to the park the other day to accompany my cardio with few exercises, but it was too crowded.Dolan wrote:What about going to the gym makes you motivated?BrookG wrote:Home workouts are boring, change my mind. More space, more equipment, easier to focus on why you are there. Going to the gym takes work but once you are there then its absolute paradise. Also the fashion wave of every single girl wearing leggings also helps inbetween setsDolan wrote:What about going to the gym makes you motivated?BrookG wrote:Home workouts are boring, change my mind. Looks like I need to find a better gym harrison, my gym doesn't have those inbetween set motivators.I_HaRRiiSoN_I wrote:More space, more equipment, easier to focus on why you are there. Better equipment. Sitting at home sucks. I can do stretches and some mediocre weightlifting but I can't push myself.Dolan wrote:What about going to the gym makes you motivated?BrookG wrote:Home workouts are boring, change my mind. How the f am I supposed to stay motivated?
Re: ESOC Fitness Thread
I don't have a problem with motivation if I have to lift at home, but I'd have a problem with the lack of equipment. If I had the space and the funds to build a home gym, I don't think motivation would be the problem, tbh. In fact, having to wait on others to finish doing their round on a machine at the gym kinda sucks.

I would of loved to have had a rowing machine at the start of lockdown. So much easier to row in your garden for 30 mins than to get the motivation to go out for a 5K/10K run

Re: ESOC Fitness Thread
Good equipment helps indeed, but gathering the strength to go for a long run or so is tough.
