So I have a cockroach infestation

How is that fair?

Well basically the other day I noticed some weird little beetle-looking bug in the kitchen, but didn't think much of it. However over the coming days I noticed more and more of them, and eventually I saw one that was big enough for me to realize it was a damn cockroach.

We had an exterminator come and he sprayed some poison and told us they were not looking for food but for water, which makes sense because our sink leaks and our moronic upstairs neighbors often leave their washing machine/bath running which makes water leak down into our apartment and into our walls. This along with their look leads me to believe they are German cockroaches. Since the exterminator came I have noticed a few dead ones on the counter which leads me to believe it is working, however there are gaps in the back of the counter which is where I think the roaches are coming in.

So: what should I do?

Crush a few roaches into a paste then spread around the area. The roaches will flee.

This is interesting, an idea I didn't even consider. So far I've just been throwing the dead cockroach bodies in the trash

Buy a hissing cockroach and collect it's musk. Smear that musk all over the poorly caulked areas, and watch them run out fast! Then it's a game of whack-a-roach!

Additionally, lay a syrup trail into a large adhesive trap, will entice the buggers to follow the trail to their DOOM.

Hmm, a hissing cockroach is an interesting idea. I could get a stronger and more powerful roach, train it to obey me, and use it to threaten the other roaches.

They also make fun pets, if you can bear their appearance. Their musk isn't a deterrent but it's a roach magnet I believe.

Roaches are gross and I wouldn't keep the hissing one around any longer than necessary

what you need to do is bring some agent orange in that will sort the roaches out as well as any people that try and sneak in

Cats love hunting bugs but if u see 1 roach it means there are 10-20 elsewhere.

Only solution is to move. I did have roaches scurry away each day I came home. Turned out my neighbour was a pig storing his take-aways and pizza boxes in the kitchen for months on end. I ended up moving and had 1 huge roach crawl out of a cabinet in my new place. My cat ate it.
Since then been roach free.

Some people would see this as an opportunity and open a Traditional Serbian Food restaurant

We had mice in our old, 5 guy, run-down, moldy house ($300/mo rent tho). I had the brilliant idea of getting a pet cat to take care of the problem having grown up on a farm with a half dozen farm cats who lived in the barn. We never saw another mouse again. A combination of set traps and a kill or two by Gary and his scent I think drove them out. I highly recommend this philosophy. I grew quite attached to Gary. Who knows, you could find yourself bridging the societally-constructed human-insect gap emotionally with a pet praying mantis.

Today is your lucky day. Just use combat max roach gel. One tube of this stuff is all you need. Place some gel in areas of infestation and within a couple days your roach problem will be gone.

It tastes like a super tasty snack to the roach and doesn't kill them until hours after they eat it. So later they die back in their nest. The poison is so potent that any roach that nibbles on the dead roach (a guaranteed touch behavior) will also die.

I hate roaches. This stuff works miracles though. Never seen it fail.
