Scratching Deep in Ear

Recently I've come to discover the spiritual bliss one receives from a proper deep ear scratch. I use a mechanical pencil with the lead retracted to rub my deep inner ear tunnel. On occasions of big yearn I will protract a small amount of lead from the pencil tip to create a sharper scratching edge. I googled the phenomenon: "why scratching ear feel good," and found a men's health article with a picture on it which is currently my forum avatar. I found the photo so hilarious and unabashed and accurate that I had to share it here.

As I have been married to a Japanese, I have had my fair share of ear cleanings. IIRC she had a special "Ear cleaning device" with which to tortured my on a regular basis.

Used to keep a toothpick next to my computer chair just for this purpose. Something spongy in my ear that was addicting to poke. Magical feeling. Hurt really bad if I poked it too hard though.

It started to give me earaches and I worried I would eventually f up with it and pop my ear drum or get an ear infection. So I quit putting stuff in my ear now.

My ears (and nose) have been extremely itchy recently. This has never happened to me before but I believe it is a new symptom of allergies. Usually I just get a runny nose and since I haven't gotten that I have refused to take allergy medicine despite being pummeled by pollen on the daily. It also seems that listening to music with headphones makes the itching even more unbearable.

No, but my ear drums occasionally "oscillate" now. I will do nothing and it feels like how a timpani looks when it's hit.

The Benadryl did help some I guess. There were still a few random moments where the itching became horrible but I guess this is the way I have to live now
