Thinking of getting a tattoo

I've decided on a whim that it would be a good idea. What should I get? I was thinking some lines of poetry but I'm open to good suggestions.

I mean I used to not want one because it's too permanent but I've come around and realized life is too short. But I don't get why people wouldn't want me to have one.

I don't know if you have heard it yet but if you get a tattoo you become a criminal. So i guess the don't comments are meant to prevent you from prison.

IMO life decisions shouldn't be made on a whim. No reason to make a hasty decision.

If I were ever to get something it would have some sort of intrinsic value, not a random picture/scripture.

I have a sea turtle on my back xD We had a team bonding thing and it had to do with tattoos

I love tattoos! I would like to get 4 more, then I'm done. I've put a lot of thought into it and I recommend that you do the same. Don't get it on a whim. You'll regret it. Think about something that is meaningful for you, or something that you want to be reminded of, or something that you want other people to know about you just by seeing your tat, or even just something fun. Afterwards, look for tattoo artists that do work in the style that you like. Don't just go to a random tattoo parlor. You need to be able to communicate with the artist what it is that you want and feel comfortable with their previous work. Finally, recognize that there is some discomfort in getting a tattoo. Take a pencil or use your nail and quickly scrape it across your skin over and over in the same location with a bit of force. That's similar to what it feels like. It's not super painful, mostly just irritating, though it can be more painful depending upon the location on your body and your specific tolerance.

i wouldn't recommend getting tattos. First of all you damage your skin permanently. Your sweat Production, thermo regulation and vitamin d production gets denied in the painted skin area.I have to admit some tattos look pretty cool, but how do they look after 20 or 30 years?!
