Re: Where to eat cheap
yea it doesn't come from prices but from their culture. It's much cheaper to eat healthy foods than fast-foods/restaurants in the US, just like anywhere else I've been

No. Brits are busy too, since your food is disgusting.InsectPoison wrote:Only Americans are busy people apparently.

2 for $1 hotdogs from sheetz are a killer deal. Too bad you live in a gooberville without sheetz.

Re: Where to eat cheap
Just make big vats of rice, quinoa, oatmeal, etc...it really isnt that hard to eat cheapish/healthy.
I go to university, play D1 sport there + work and still manage to eat healthy :-) its just a matter of researching what's best for you and putting eating healthy as a higher priority.
But ye Gibson, if you need to just get by for the time being, I think Wendy's has some good chili you could buy like 2 of them for a meal and I like buying things like greek yogurt or progresso soup (or whatever the brand is called). Tbh ramen noodles can get you by for a week or two but its probs best not to get into the habit of eating those xD

Re: Where to eat cheap
If you have a Greek taverna close by you can call for a portion of souvlaki, tell them to bring a 6-pack of beers as well.
That shouldn't total more than $20.
Throw in a couple of $ here and there for delivery fee and tips and you have a nice meal and drinks for $25.

make your own flipping food lol. Back home we spent 75 euros, like a 100 dollars on food for a week. For 5 people, 3 of which were guys with big appetites. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even if you can't use the stove, there's plenty of food you can make lol.

I cant use the stove, oven or microwave. I can make sandwiches basically.

sandwiches, salads, breadspreads (hummus, peanutbutter, quacamole). You could also make your own pesto, buy some nuts and fresh greens that can be eaten raw or worst case scenario pre-cooked canned veggies, go to your local italian and order only pasta without anything. They'll look at you funny. You explain why. They'll throw in some free garlic bread for you. There you go, even Granny Caria couldn't make it better!
or look into raw foods recipes, for example.

Vietnamese fresh springrolls are one thing that is quite easy to make, healthy and delicious.
any of those could probably be supplemented with bread, pasta or rice (you do the same thing as with the pasta, but you go to your local asian restaurant).

Re: Where to eat cheap
The answer to the Q here is obviously "in your house".
Clean your microwave already. Yes you can clean it. Money > principles. Or just use the stove after they fix it. When is that happening?
You could live off of instant noodles until they fix it. That's what a friend of mine did for much longer than should be physically possible after his student grant abruptly stopped.
