What do you think about Alex Jones' recent social media ban?
Re: What do you think about Alex Jones' recent social media ban?
Seems we should have discussed step 1 before blindly moving on to step 2.

Re: What do you think about Alex Jones' recent social media ban?
The only common thread between these two topics is they are both entertainment platforms, the NFL owners decided to keep politics out of it and gave their players an option to either entertain or go home. Youtube, facebook and the other entertainment platforms need to remember their place as an unbiased platform or change their tax status and get ready for mass law suits.
Re: What do you think about Alex Jones' recent social media ban?
I only say that because I see the same people saying that the NFL can force the players to stand (ie not free speech) but saying that youtube can't remove Alex Jones (bc he has free speech). @Snuden

But the NFL is just like any other corporation. If those players wanted to protest or speak out against about cop killings on their free time fine. But they were doing it on company time and in a way that was negatively impacting the entire corporation. Any other job in the USA would fire you on the spot or atleast a severe reprimand.

It is a lot like the clothing requirement for the nba. Dress professional not like a hood rat or get your things and go.

No I get your point. Free speech advocates pay attention to one and not the other. Im pointing out if your on the clock and your speech negatively impacts your company it is no longer free speech.
Re: What do you think about Alex Jones' recent social media ban?
And YouTube has the right to remove Alex Jones' content...

Re: What do you think about Alex Jones' recent social media ban?
Depends on youtubes status. Is it a publisher that has a right to limit content or a platform for free exchange of ideas? The reason why it matters is its tax status and legal liability. I pretty much careless if Alex Jones got banned he can always take other avenues to get infowars message out. What I care about is a company or companies getting a lower tax status because they say they are in column b yet are acting like column a and need to pay their share.

Well, since YouTube falls under Google LLC it doesn't matter because Google is one of the greatest tax dodgers in modern history.

Well lets hope all the loop holes get closed lol. I am not pro high taxes but I am pro pay what is required. The loop holes and excessive deductions I find an issue. What is funny is no one is flipping out about verizons little trick.

They don't because they prefer: deytukurjubzzz
It's funny how amsel still refuses to get that freedom of speech doesn't mean obligation of acceptance. Just because you have a right to sell bullshit doesn't mean i have to buy it. Or stick atound. Or talk to you. If you don't like someone, the universal general response is to disassociate yourself from that person. How can you think that is problematic is beyond me.
And actually threatening to fire is a use of force. Not all force comes from violence, in fact it usually doesn't. Companies can restrict players/employees dresscode, and also certain behaviour including speech when it's related to work. But that should be made clear in the contract before signing.

Not in central Pennsylvania. It's hot and humid af, and it rains constantly. I'm pissed and honestly, it's getting to be "too much." Makes it very hard to record Telethon rewards

Yeah it feels great if you're a bacterium which thrives in hot, wet conditions. If you're a person it just feels like a sauna constantly and makes you want to fucking die
