Any of you an expert on Japanese Whiskys? I've been drinking some of them and they are good.

Especially the one below. There's so much taste my mouth almost dies, every time.

speaking abt beer I find american one (even those which are 5%) way lighter than euro ones in term of taste. I'm not a beer fan, but euro beer are just stronger (for those who didn't know, might be obvious for the majority). They got some good domestic ones in the US tho, but bud, miller etc not my thing.
for those who lost hope and think abt same sex marriage, beer is your best friend

Iv wondered this my self, especially among teenagers and college students. I was with my friends once and they get into a huge fight about who drove better while extremely drunk. This culminated in us going to Costco and buying a 48 pack. Im not as stupid as them, so I left after this, but word on the street was that they each drank 24 beers and then tried to drive. One of them ended up in the hospital with a totaled car and facing several criminal charges.
my friend, your friends lied. 24 beers (33cl?)= almost 8 liters. There is actually a thing in a french business school to get the barman position you have to drink 10L, puking as much as you want (bschool..) in a limited amount of time. Thing is, it takes them 3h, and they puke like 5 time average, very few do it + I doubt you can even get into a car after that.
seems like you got smart friend tho, playing with your life and shit :)

My rule towards drinking is: never drink alone. Just to avoid becoming an alcoholic :D
I think beer is good for just hanging out, whereas heavy stuff like vodka, cacha?a etc are better for partying in a club or something.

Its a challenge over here do drink a crate of beers in 24 hours (so 24 33cl beers in 24 hours). It appears to be doable, but really tough.

I am from germany and I am in a german fraternity. We drink beer there and I really like it, the taste is ok and you dont get wasted so easily compared to vodka or other hard stuff.

But coming back to drinking extreme amounts of beer in a short period of time with puking: 10 liters equals 20 bottles of 0,5 liters of beer - this is actually a thing that some people do (me included): You open up all 20 bottles and then try to drink it faster than everyone else. You gotta puke after every second bottle and this is allowed, the fastest one simply wins. I know that its very stupid to do since it doesnt actually give you anything, but its done nevertheless. Fastest that I have seen was just below 4:30 minutes.

But always remember: Never go full retard! Know your fking limits, dont drink to make your life look better! And if you cant handle that alone, go and seek professional help!

Not funny but also fucking idiotic. If you drive over someone because you are drunk, gl to live with your repentance rest of your life.
Can''t believe driving drunk is legal in some US states (correct me If I''m wrong) .

I live in the U.S. its illegal to drive in all states with a concentration of alcohol in your blood of .08% or higher. Sad thing is, I heard if you dont sleep for 24 hours your reaction time and stuff like that is as bad as if you had .08% concentration.
last time i cryed was because i stood on Lego

The United States Federal BAC limit is 0.08. If you get pulled over with a limit higher than that you will be arrested. In some places its even lower but generally its a 0.08 BAC limit.

Do you mean that it damages your brain cells and make you therefore dumber or that it makes you foolish during being drunk?

Because latest researches point that occasional drinking doesnt affect your brains. Theres no point linking my finnish sources but google it if you want to.
Yes, you are an idiot when youre drunk but so are most people around you. And most of them are having very good time.
Yes, alcohol damages your body but imo its worth it if you use it right.

just realize that eating fastfood will probably damage your body more than getting drunk once in a while

Im not talking about occasional drinking, i meant both you get more stupid as you are drunk and you get more stupid when you drink alot over a prolonged period of time especially when you start to do it at a young age.

33cl is actually less then what a standard beer is here by about 8 % actually, and we aren''t talking 24 hours, we''re talking like 3 or 4.
This beer also has very low alcohol content, about 4 % or so

So anyone between 18 and 21 can get beer just anywhere in the U.S. without getting carded and the authorities allow it?
Yeah I call bullshit.
That or your country is weird as fuck for western standards.

jkl wrote:the terms east and west r so vague that there is no point in using those terms to describe a group of ppl. many dont consider mexico or brazil to be considered west for some reason
West and east have been buzzwords since the 11th century (great schism, catholic church vs orthodox church). The catholics (Germany, Italy, Spain...) being the "west", and the orthodox (Russia, Byzantine, etc) being the "east".
...at some point it was altered and some people started designating the west as the Christian world and the east as the Muslim world.
Aaand then Americans came along with their cold war bs and the definition was altered once more: east became a buzzword for the socialist block, and the NATO-alligned, developed capitalist countries designated themselves as "the west". Everything else was just the 3rd world.

Its kinda vague for some countries, such as Greece. You will find people who think is the core of the western world because greek philosophy was the basis western civilization and culture. Besides, Greece has been aligned with NATO and the capitalist world since the end of WW2.
In the other hand (imho) its not incorrect to claim Greece is the core of the eastern world, as the Greeks were responsible for the division of Orthodoxy and Catholicism and Byzantium (today Greece) being the core of the Orthodox world. which was as far as I know the original distinction between eastern world and western world.
Its also vague for latin america. Pretty much every latin american country was founded under catholicism, an european language, and ideals of liberty, freedom and democracy - all legacy of the age of enlightenment which eventually became popular amongst intellectuals of the Americas.
But nowadays latin american countries are rather poor plus have certain weird native, non-european elements in their culture, so some people dont consider them quite western.

But, eh, otherwise I think its pretty clear which is the so-called western world.
