Connor attacked khabibs brother for no reason too. Here you can see khabibs brother jumping the cage to either join the brawl or help contain khabib and Connor sucker punches him. But yea ofc Connor gets his full purse while khabibs is being held and he could potentially lose his belt

Okay got a little bit too drunk last night to think clearly about this. But as I see it right now, the guy Khabib went after is Conor's BJJ coach. Apparently he was trying to talk smack at Khabib and Khabib responded with a jump out of the octagon and another right at him.

When Conor saw this he immediately tried to jump out of the cage too. At the same time Khabibs brother ran across the octagon and got on top of the cage. Was he going to try to get out and try to calm the situation? Maybe. But Conor apparently sucker punched him while they were both awkwardly on top of the cage.

Seeing this two fighters from Khabib's camp jumped into the octagon as well with intentions of harming Conor. Among the two fighters was Zubaira Tukhugov who iirc is a Chechen and was earlier offended by Conor's remarks on his countrymen and president at one of the press conferences.

So basically it boils down to:
Conor insults Khabib's religion, country, etc trying to promote their fight. Khabib doesn't see it as fight promotion takes it personally and is emotionally charged up as are his teammates. Riots. Khabib's earnings are held and his belt probably taken away while Conor walks away with millionsadollas
