Chiropractors, well?

  • Quote

Post by evilcheadar »

I've been seeing a lot of videos on youtube where chiropractors "adjust" their patients by cracking various parts of their body. Chiropractors claim they are correcting subluxations of various vertebrae. The patients seem to get some instant relief, but have to return pretty frequently. They are what some call "crack addicts". Some of chiro's biggest critics are allopathic doctors who say there is little to no primary literature that supports that the "adjustments" actually do anything. What's your opinion on chiropractors and their practice?

It seems that the patients do not get fully cured because they do not eliminate the causes of the issue they have. What a chiropractor can do is offer some relief. I have never seen a chiropractor however so what do I know

We have to narrow down how we feel at least a little bit.

I do believe chiropractors could help you out, but it is indeed not a proven concept. The ring dinging seemed a little odd at least. The guy seems like he could just be a fraud. On the other hand, movements like that could surely have a real effect on a human body. So I dunno.

Yea, I believe they're just really good at momentarily releasing pressure on nerves. I think it's important to remember that your spine is always in the context of your body. Your muscles, ligaments, and tendons are what pull on your bones. Chiropractors are not really addressing the underlying pathology that causes pressure on nerves and misalignment.

I've never been to a chiropractor but I did go to a massage therapist the other day and my back still hurts. In fact the massage caused me a great deal of pain and I kind of want my $120 back

A friend went to a chiropractor to adjust his misaligned spine, but a couple months later he had back issues.
It's pretty obvious that we are not meant to visit chiropractors by nature and if we had proper function of our bodies we wouldn't need to and they'd be unemployed :hmm: so maybe helping you eliminate the causes of your issues isn't much of their concern

You're supposed to keep a good posture and do some back strengthening exercises or of course you're going to end up back where you started.

They're split into a thousand different factions. It's kind of hard to judge them all. Some are nuts; some I have immense respect for. Also they do more than just crack-spines.
