Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
I guess since Trump did win it's good for the left to learn a lesson from that: always ignore reality

Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
Who do you think the Obama of this primary will be? (hint: it can't be Bernie)

Me either. He’s my least favorite candidate and no one I talk to except the Ear likes him, yet he dominates every poll.
What confuses me is that there's no clear preference for a progressive or a non-progressive, just Biden or not-Biden. I don't put much stock in the poll though. The idea that there's going to be a 14 point shift between parties in a competitive-state is ridiculous. The fact that it's over-inflating Trump's margins of victory is also indicative that they're trying to make Biden look better because he's "the only one who can win." Realistically, a Trump win in Arizona would probably be almost identical to his 2016 margins.

Bad Bern! That and basic understanding of human nature. Socialism is predicated on the false assumption that people are stupid and will be willing to work at high levels of production with no incentives to do so. Capitalism fails because people are greedy, meanwhile socialism will succeed because people are generous? Socialism is the Flat Earth of economics.

How likely do you think Pete or Warren overtaking Biden is?

The reason I ask is not rhetorical, I'm curious how much you're willing to bet

Exactly. No way Warren wins when egotistical old man Bernie is in the race, and while I like Pete for being young it's highly unlikely he can actually pull ahead

I don’t know. She’s killing it on policies. At this pace I might vote for her.

I like that she's doing that, but if you're trying to argue that laying out clearly defined policies is a roadmap to victory you're only fooling yourself

@Mr_Bramboy Go troll some other community? They would love you over on /r/the_donald.
Gotta wonder how much of that subreddit is just people supporting it ironically. And people who get paid to spam that shit. You should probably apply Bram, turn your hobby into a job

Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
Iv decided I'm going all in on Biden. He's the most electable Democrat we've seen since Obama and that's the most important thing. Who knows, I might even vote for him.

iwillspankyou wrote:I guess you never wondered of how much pain it took for those ppl, to come forward, and actually do that surgery? Just imagine how much for a sec, then you can start to accept the sacrifice they are going through. And then, maybe then, you can have a clue of the pain it took, not doing it
They're doing it because in their minds they have created this very rewarding fantasy of them role-playing as the opposite gender, when they could very well be happily gay.
The thing is that not even the surgery manages to fix their identity. They don't really get fully-developed sexual organs of the opposite sex, they get some simulations of those organs that are supposed to give them the impression they have transitioned. These surgeries don't change someone's bone structure, they don't put an uterus in someone who was born a man and they don't change someone's genetics. A man who had a sex change operation will still have the hairy ears gene from chromosome Y, for example. And they will have to take hormone blockers their entire life, to block the effect of the testosterone gene on the same Y chromosome.
So it's a rather crude and rudimentary way of giving someone a certain shape to make them believe they are now of the opposite sex. When genetically they're still of the same sex they were born with.
Sadly, we don't currently have the technology to make the adjustments to the brain, rather than do invasive operations to the body and remodel it to make it match whatever someone's mind says it wants. It would probably be much less destructive than current methods.
PS. Think of this rather funny scenario:
A transsexual (mtf) commits a crime, they break into someone's house and steal a valuable painting. The police cannot identify them based on camera footage, so they are looking for dead skin or hair that has fallen on the floor, so they can get DNA information from it. They eventually manage to find some hair and identify the intruder as male. However, the transsexual had changed their ID papers some time ago and they are now officially "female". Eventually, the police manage to track the painting down and find the person who stole it. The press had already been told the suspect is a male in his 30s, but now the police are disclosing that they have arrested a woman. Which one was the true identity of this person?
