Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
The first part is doing absolutely everything in one's power to stop a Bloomberg nomination. Trust me, I'd vote for practically any other candidate!

Are there any candidates that you think are worse than Bloomberg?Cometk wrote: practically any other candidate!

Probably not. I will vote for any other candidate that wins a non-rigged democratic primary. If itās rigged then Iāll have to see the extent to which it was rigged before deciding if I vote or not.fightinfrenchman wrote:Are there any candidates that you think are worse than Bloomberg?Cometk wrote: practically any other candidate!

Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
What would constitute a rigged primary to you? If, for example, everything followed processes that are already allowed but you dislike, would you consider that rigging?

Leftists consider a primary rigged if less people vote for Bernie Sanders than a moderate candidatefightinfrenchman wrote:What would constitute a rigged primary to you? If, for example, everything followed processes that are already allowed but you dislike, would you consider that rigging?

I would consider it a fair election when they don't change the rules at the very last minute, like the did in the 2016 Nevada Caucusgibson wrote:Leftists consider a primary rigged if less people vote for Bernie Sanders than a moderate candidate

They'd both be bad. Trump would be worse in some ways and Bloomberg would be worse in some ways. I will never vote for either.gibson wrote:Yea you just said how theyād be the same, which is obviously untruen0el wrote:For the record I never said thatShow hidden quotes

Doesn't that imply that you think they're equally bad?n0el wrote:They'd both be bad. Trump would be worse in some ways and Bloomberg would be worse in some ways. I will never vote for either.gibson wrote:Yea you just said how theyād be the same, which is obviously untrueShow hidden quotes

Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
So if one is better than the other, why wouldn't you vote for the better one?

Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
The precedent and lasting impact (damage) for the Democratic Party outweighs being slightly better on policy. That's why Bloomberg is no better than Trump

Would you vote for Ted Cruz against Donald Trump?fightinfrenchman wrote:So if one is better than the other, why wouldn't you vote for the better one?

Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
In what specific aspects do you think Bloomberg would be better on policy? Because I feel like they're significant enough to vote for him.Cometk wrote:The precedent and lasting impact (damage) for the Democratic Party outweighs being slightly better on policy. I guess the lasting and irreversible impact that Trump policy has the potential of helping to reek on the earth isnt as bad, nor is the potential 2 supreme court justices who will be enacting an anti LGBTQ and anti women policy for the next 40 years anywhere near as bad as the "damage" to the democratic party.Cometk wrote:The precedent and lasting impact (damage) for the Democratic Party outweighs being slightly better on policy. Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
He would have a more reasonable stance on foreign policy and ISIS, and might actually listen to his military advisers. Instead of defying literally everyone like Trump to make a decision purely for personal gain.fightinfrenchman wrote:In what specific aspects do you think Bloomberg would be better on policy? If it unites instead of weakens the democratic party into nominating a non-terrible candidate in 2024, maybe that's for the better.gibson wrote:I guess the lasting and irreversible impact that Trump policy has the potential of helping to reek on the earth isnt as bad.Cometk wrote:The precedent and lasting impact (damage) for the Democratic Party outweighs being slightly better on policy. Re: 2020 Democratic Primary
I mean, we've already had one term of Trump. Are you really willing to risk the damage of a second term in hopes that you get a more left candidate in 2024?

Not just more left - a candidate who didn't buy the election

Talking about actual policies, rather than useless semantics seems difficult for you ear. Your semantics give me reflux.

I don't understand what you mean by this. I'm asking questions in order to better understand peoples positions, I don't want to make assumptions based on limited information.RefluxSemantic wrote:Talking about actual policies, rather than useless semantics seems difficult for you ear.
