The democrats have a severe issue of operations being run by political careerists. The mindset for most of them was "I get to meet someone important and influential! Maybe I'll get invited to parties". rather than "I wonder if presenting this lady whose own party dislikes her next to our presidential candidate will appeal to voters." Republicans are kind of similar, but they seem to have bigger divisions in competency by state. The Virginia GOP is completely incompetent and impotent. They all grew up with Virginia being safer than Texas, so none of them know how to actually run a campaign. Meanwhile, the Florida GOP is absolutely hardcore. Both distributions of competency seem to have their own advantages.

Yeah, it’s not like Hillary Clinton can help galvanize the Democratic base that still holds a favorable view of her. On a related note, it’s amusing to see the arrogance of some people here who think that they know what’s best for America, but clearly know very little about the reality here.

I've literally never seen someone who actually liked Hillary. Actually liked, as in they would be disappointed if someone very similar - like John Kerry - were nominated instead of her. It's kind of weird. Liking her is such an odd thing that she's actually amassed a large following of ironic fans.

No one likes Hillary, just like no one likes Biden. If you want to see people with actual fans, look at Obama and Sanders. Buttigieg seemed to have a tad, but not enough to be a real movement. I would honestly be surprised if even 1% of the population was genuinely excited for and enthusiastic about Secretary Clinton becoming president. Even you clearly are clearly driven by a heavy sense of irony in your praise of people like Clinton, while your true underlying beliefs are simply the desire to put a democrat in office - a belief which is perfectly acceptable in its own right.

I'm always told to deny my own eyes and ears whenever they observe things that are disagreeable to others. But whose truth could I ever hope to trust if not my own? It's quite obvious to me that there's no energy behind these elderly career politicians campaigning on simply offering more of the usual.
