Apparently Arya has an invisibility cloak holy shit that was fucking terrible. Literally materialised out of thin air. And all the bad guys all dropped dead. Jesus Christ. Nobody important even died.

I've finished ep. 3. This series does not know what to do. Worst episode I've watched.
Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
You're getting caught up on semantics, also it had been set up from since you first saw the night king that everyone of the white walkers was tied to him so naturally his death would kill them.Kawapasaka wrote:Apparently Arya has an invisibility cloak holy shit that was fucking terrible. What semantics? That's exactly what happened, and it was stupid. What a ridiculously anticlimactic episode. The White Walkers appeared at the end and did literally nothing. The Night King did literally nothing. The dragons fought for a bit and ultimately did nothing, was it even made clear if they died or not? And Bran also did absolutely nothing, his entire purpose was to sit under a tree and be a distraction apparently. 8 seasons hyping this up and not a single noteworthy death except maybe Theon, which was undermined horribly by the final ninja backstab seconds later.
Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
How can you say anti climactic? The entire show has been building to this. I guess super hero movies have conditioned people to believe there has to be a huge boss fight anytime a bad guy dies. Hint, there doesn't.Kawapasaka wrote:gibson wrote:You're getting caught up on semantics, also it had been set up from since you first saw the night king that everyone of the white walkers was tied to him so naturally his death would kill them.Kawapasaka wrote:Apparently Arya has an invisibility cloak holy shit that was fucking terrible. Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
Yeah, the entire show has been building the villain up and he dies... to a knife trick? Without actually doing anything? And the two main characters previously involved in his build-up (Jon/Bran) have nothing to do with his downfall? I'd call that anticlimactic.
Funny that you bring up Super Hero movies because that sequence with the slow piano music and dulled diegetic sound showing the heroes struggling and facing defeat just before deus ex Arya teleports through the air and saves the day felt very reminiscent of one.

The night king might be the worst (as in of poor quality) villain in television history.

I'd also add that on a show called "Game of Thrones" we have no idea what is happening in the majority of the 7 kingdoms. Presumably the Lannisters have had an endless supply of troops to keep them all suppressed.
They switched all the focus to the epic good vs bad fight and couldn't even get that right.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
Because going into this episode there were only 3 relevant parties so of course they were gonna show the two parties that were fighting? Would you have preferred them showing Cersei and Eurons sex tape the entire time?

It's been unaddressed for much longer than just this episode...
Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
I don't completely disagree with you on that point. However this happens every season. People come and whine about how they didn't like the episode, but ultimately those people are wrong. The only objective standard we have for the show is its ratings, and currently this is the 2nd highest rated episode of the entire show on imdb.

Lots of subjective opinions combined don't make an objective fact, that's dangerous reasoning. My opinion obviously isn't objective fact either, it's just not really a useful thing to bring up when discussing the quality of art/entertainment.
Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
yeah i can understand you finding people who complain about disliking an episode obnoxious, but they are not and cannot be “wrong” for just having that opinion. they just have it. it really do be like that sometimes

ye it was anticlimactic for sure, sloppy and lazy writing (for some parts), and it all seems very rushed. As if HBO was like, dudes, we're making too much money, we need to stawp thish... It now also has completely lost the spirit of the books, kinda sad. Though it had some nice moments as well.
but Bran was obviously looking into the Night King's history, so I assume next episode we're going to get the "villain's reveal" through Bran, who discovered something while theon, who suddenly had his fingers grown back, turned out to be the biggest badass in the North.
it's quite clear that the generals of this allied army need to play a bit more aoe, because their BO for this battle sucked ass, it was on GUA's double rax 5 jan first level.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 8
Fucking shit episode.
First of all, these kids seem to be some Pr 10 players compared to Stannis and Tywin. Just suiciding cav instantly, then leaving the artillery unprotected to front line. Then wall defence was shit and everybody was just sucking dicks when walkers were idling behind fire wall.
Secondly, this all has gotten into Hollywood shit with happy endings. I wished walkers would have won Winterfell and some major characters would have escaped to the South. All major characters survived cause they have 9000hp with 90% melee resistance and even this Mormont bitch with like 10hp 3 attack took a Mahout down.
Then, in the end, this fucking chuko-nu Arya just uses some shitty hacks to teleport behind Night King to stab it once, which ends like all the preparation of last seasons. Like, couldn't they make a somekind of ambush or some shit, like some wanker jumping from the tree, but no, of course it had to be Arya making somekind of fucking dramatic gayjump.
I wish GOT could have ended like it was in the beginning. Now it's just bunch of normies cheering for some kind of Marvel bullshit action. I can't believe the IMDB rating of this shit.
1/5, kynesie-kaiser was better entertainment

Not sure he was a villain. Perhaps he was trying to save us from a bad final season by killing everyone.
At this point I`m too invested into the show, I just want to see how it all ends. This episode had some nice atmosphere but it kind of falls apart if I think too much on it. So I`ll just take it as mindless entertainment, I guess.
