As I understand it, C.S. Lewis's (and Jesus's) point is that the proud, the 'successful' and the self-righteous are characterized by an illusion of self-sufficiency, which lulls them into a false sense that they have nothing to repent of. On the other hand, those who are on the bottom rung of society, or who've experienced loss and hardship, or known the depth of sin and found no satisfaction in it, are comparatively more likely to humble themselves and seek God's forgiveness.

He was profound until he couldn't argue out of punishment for sinner-y people. It's logical with a big assumption but hurts. I'd suppose he'd say that's one of the points.

I think regardless of belief and affiliation he largely kills it, because he comforts.

Do you personally know anyone who has worked in the sex industry? I have known many. None of them would say that it's worse than other types of work. If they felt is was, then they would work elsewhere. There is this huge misconception that women in the sex industry are incapable of working in other fields due to a lack of mental faculties or whatever.
