I am recalling a moment when I was a very young child with one of my parents in a mall in Nebraska and I needed to shit. I said I gotta go to da bathwoom. They asked which one and I knew about the #1 and the #2 codes but everyone did and there were other people around and I was not so unaware as to let my dignity shrivel by answering that question like that because adults talk to children so loud that every other single adult can hear it and when you hear loud talking there is a natural reaction to listen, and so when an adult talks very loud to a child so that other adults can hear they will always listen -- I was aware of that and so I conspired to be clever.

To avoid any explicit known references to natural bodily functions that listening adults would use to judge me I thought I'd be clever and just say the first letter of the word of the act I was needing to do like an impromptu code. And because I was clever and their son I knew my parent would pick up on it and I was actually so excited at my cleverness that I did not think it through before I said just "p," meaning for poo. And then immediately after it dawned on me that pee also starts with the letter p, and what is worse, it phonetically spells it.

Then whichever parent I was with said OK you go pee and I was nervous because I really had to go poo but imagine trying to explain this thought process to them right there and then with all of those people still listening and I didn't and I don't remember what actually happened after that.
