In this battle at 1:18 Mcdonald concedes that burger king's onion rings are pretty good. Why would he do that if he wants to win the battle? Makes him look like a complete idiot.

Giving credit to your opponent is a way of boosting your own image. If you are fighting on par with him, that means that you too are formidable. McDonalds also doesn't include onion rings in their menu iirc, so i guess there is no competition on that anyway.
