Sports and Exercise

  • Quote

Post by BrookG »

My daily work includes a lot of sitting, so recently I started to work out for building a stronger back, shoulders and so on. Now I am going to the gym regularly and I am careful with what I am eating too (following a diet and measuring fat), already for 3 months. Now it has become a fun hobby, but I am still a novice. I know that many people here are active in that regard, why do you exercise, what are your experiences, how often do you do sports, how long have you been working out, are you following a diet? It will be great to hear your opinions on it.

I just ran a marathon. The training for it was great for the body and the mind. Highly recommend.

A friend runs marathons too, it's a glorious achievement. Good job! How long did you prepare for it?

Started playing golf recently, actually enjoying it more than I thought I would.

18 weeks. It’s great for discipline of doing any physical activities. If you skip a day now and then it’s okay, but if you make it a habit you hurt so bad you won’t ever do it again.

Running long distances is not my thing, it's a highly mental sport. And yes, I try not to miss any days either. If for any reason I skip one I try to replenish, except from when I was sick with the flu. I used to work out in the beginning of the year, but stopped before summer. Now I am doing it more seriously. This week I started to do a superset training.

I try to make every morning 30-50 situps and 10min exercises. Directly after I stand up.
Then I drink a tea in the morning but without sweeten it.
I go like 2-3 times per week for 1-2h to the gym since 6 weeks.
Befor I made at least 3h per week Sport (jogging/fast walking or biking and everything what is possible to do and the weather is nice I do by bike)
I walk my dog kinda 1h per day.
I try (the last 2 days I failed and eat some chocolate and drank red bull) to not eat from 20 till midday. Then you will lose the fat between your organs.
I drink maybe 2L of lemonade like cola or some stuff per month.
I changed my whole way of lifestyle... I don't eat fast food that much and eat mostly healthy. My mind and body is appreciating it.
I don't like diets because it's for a short time and maybe you will gain weight again.
When you was a lazy ass... Your body will change and when you once feel it.. It's so great!
It took me 1,5 years to come on this point where iam now but everything is possible as long you believe in your self

It's ok to eat fast food or sweets from time to time. Don't feel guilty about, as long as you stay back on track

I lift dumbbells 4 days a week. Not really enough exercise though. Once it gets cooler, I'm going to start running again.

I got a stripper pole and use it ~1 hour most days. Have lost about 3 pounds in this past month without changing my shitty diet.

Make your diet even worse to counteract the effects of the exercise

I sometimes watch Twitch streams on my phone if I'm doing cardio at the gym. I would actually plan to go to gym to watch AoE3 matches aswell. I also have a dumbell with various plates i can do at home while watching ESOC streams other wise I could be sat for 2-3 hours doing absolutely nothing while watching AoE3.
