Also, I don't see the appeal of the tories, but choosing the absolute moron over the other candidate seems to be a common theme in the anglophone world

Yes, obviously I know about the carefully crafted image of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson complimented by a sprinkle of Trump look-a-like and campaigning tactics - a recipe that seems to work well these days
Exit polls are generally pretty accurate, and anyway there would have to be a pretty huge error for the conservatives not to have won
I see. So that will probably mean you're getting your Johnson-style Brexit (which is btw almost the same as May's chequers deal) and leave the EU for your potentially new best friend Donald. While I hope you're going to be happy with that eventually, I highly doubt it. But at least there won't be any stupid UK blockades for EU governance anymore
@Goodspeed yes, it did indeed. But, similar to the U.S.'s case, that was just the one big thing the eroding trust into that nation's politics culminated in, the aggregation of all that distrust. I don't like it at all, but it was bound to happen in some way or the other

The Joke here is that Corbyn is the moron.
I'm not gonna dive into that further since ideological debate on the internet rarely ever leaves anyone happier or with a gain in understanding of each other.
I've already displayed my discontent with the UK's electoral system, that whole UK election discourse as well as most of Boris Johnson's stances on a variety of topics and I do think it's a bad direction the UK is heading towards.
@Amsel_ You could do the exact same thing for any "side" that loses an election in any country, and pretending that you can't is just being disingenious. (And before you respond note that I don't really like Labour and I'm not a leftist)

Also I didn't pay much attention to the polls here but wasn't it widely predicted the Tories would win? It's not really like the 2016 US election where it was an upset

The demands of Brexiteers are literally at odds with reality. But good luck with that (just kidding, I actually hope it goes very badly and your country regrets it for decades to come)
Finally! We're getting shot of the UK from the EU. And the SNP almost grabbing all seats in Scotland. Things couldn't have gone better in this election.
Also this is probably the end of the road for comrade Corbyn.

I would've thought you were a big Labour supporter
Labour are a bunch of cucks that want to nationalise the economy. Who can support that, lol. Not that I care, though, it's not my country.
But I'm happy finally this will get solved and the UK will be out of the EU next year.
Too much time and energy were wasted on all this Brexit noise. Time to move on.

I always like looking at the social media echo-chambers as they're just filled with people thinking the left is popular across the country as it's popular online.

Agreed, the best thing about this result is that the government can move on from Brexit and focus on more important problems.
The scale of this defeat for Labour is truly historic. Losing the Labour heartlands to the conservatives is equivalent to the Democrats losing the American South to the Republicans. What we are seeing is a paradigm shift and complete redrawing of the political landscape. This will prompt Labour to rethink its policies and drop it’s misguided Socialism for good.
@Horsemen That's not really a good comparison because Democrats still aren't popular in the South but have won the popular vote in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections
