Games have been really good, and there's a chance Viper, who won like every tournament he played in for the past idk 3 years, will finally be dethroned. Hera is looking pretty unstoppable.

Yea from what I've seen (the bo7 showmatch they did some weeks before plus their group stage match) I don't think hera will beat viper in a bo11. Btw isn't bo11 kinda insane especially considering aoe2 games can be a bit long? Or is it standard for aoe2 tournaments?

It is kinda insane yeah. Games can be long, and really intense too.
Hera is definitely not favored to win, but the way he just bashed tatoh I think he might have a shot. He's in top form for sure.

Bo9 finals are pretty typical in AoE2 tournaments, have been for years. I don't recall any other bo11 finals though.

What's the deal with all the maps where you start walled in?

It's fine in AoE2 because late game balance isn't a complete trainwreck.

I think once they catch up to a certain point they can't do 1.7x so they have to do 1.5x and then fast forward, it's annoying and sometimes one caster will mention something that the other caster doesn't see yet because they aren't synced up. Idk if it was like this on aoe2 voobly or if this is just a de thing.
