Time is wise and our wounds seem to heal to the rhythm of aging,
But our past is a ghost fading out that at night it’s still haunting.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Why would anyone want to criticize one of the best performing major country in the first place?

You could just say that India has dealt and is dealing with covid better than ANY country with land borders.

But that's not true. We are dealing better compared to UK, Italy, Spain, France, USA, and many more countries.

If you're dealing with it better than UK, Italy, Spain, France, USA then that would probably make it true, or at least closer to true.

So South Korea, Nordic countries, Singapore, China don't have land borders?

Heck at least on official statistics Pakistan and Bangladesh are doing better, guess they don't have land border.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
So you are just going to take a single phase or peak period and then overall compare it with other countries which are currently past their peak or on downward trend. Need I remind you that India is just going through 2nd wave while other countries have been through 3rd/4th?

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Statistically India needs to have at least 3-7 times more cases and at least 1.5 times more deaths than US to say it is doing comparable or worse than US. In terms cases per/x population India is currently well below world average and same goes for deaths/x population. Agreed India is going through a bad phase right now but it is still a far away before it is comparable to US or Europe or other major nations and pretty sure we are never reaching that.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Its a rough estimate and I considered multiple factors like age, health, living conditions, weather and more when making the calculations which is why death comparison is on such lower side instead of 3-4 times.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
So you are just going to take a single phrase and tie it to your point? All i'm saying is India is doing shit and the numbers show no signs of decreasing. I don't make any quantitative comparisons with other countries as it is unclear how Indias covid situation will turn out.princeofcarthage wrote:So you are just going to take a single phase or peak period and then overall compare it with other countries which are currently past their peak or on downward trend. Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Single phrase? I gave you data for more than a year across multiple points of comparison. No one said India is doing great atm. But saying India is doing worse than Europe or US is another thing when statistics don't approve. With US on downward trend and India heading towards peak the statistics barely are equal for both the countries. It isn't unclear, based on past data and loads of knowledge of people who know how things work experts and models are predicting that India will be past its peak by first week of May. And for that matter it is also unclear how the situation in US or Europe might turn out. In that case you can't really compare.harcha wrote:So you are just going to take a single phrase and tie it to your point? Irony warning
@howlingwolfpaw I think you should stick to your principles and stop drinking water. After all it's one of the main ingredients in antifreeze which is super toxic and deadly in human consumption.
