Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
You forgot to take into account that the Netherlands has a bunch of morons as leaders.
The new restrictions are just completely arbitrary, which doesn't really help their cause. But I'm pretty sure too many people are just not interested in following all those restrictions because some dumb antivaxxers are in the IC.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
What probably pisses me off the most is that the government tried to sell this as a 3 week lockdown to get things back on track. They already knew it was going to be a super long lockdown. I think people that lie like that shouldn't be in politics.
Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
You should get into politics, so that gradually the constraints of the job will turn you into what you hated

If it turns out we need periodic boosters, I'm all for it. It's not like it's something that's unheard of.
I genuinely had zero side effects from the pfizer vaccine. Especially the 2nd dose didn't affect me at all.

moderna booster hit harder than the pfizers, felt shit for nearly a day. i hope they can combine this with the flu shot sooner than later.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Lockdowns were a way to get the virus under control while the magical vaccine was developed and distributed. We have the magic vaccine now so it's fine, the virus doesn't matter

Fuck: https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/11/6 ... ronavirus/
Edited for English linkPassengers from the two flights who tested positive were taken to a hotel where they will stay until declared coronavirus free, officials said, unless they live alone in the Netherlands, in which case they were taken home. People with a negative test are also supposed to go into quarantine for at least five days.

C.U.R.E. Pfizer wants to now make new vaccine and earn another 100 billion. Ready for round 2?
Fine line to something great is a strange change.

Magical thinking is a type of fallacious thinking and it's a common source of invalid causal inferences. Correlation does NOT imply causation.fightinfrenchman wrote:Lockdowns were a way to get the virus under control while the magical vaccine was developed and distributed. Correlation does imply causation. That doesn't always mean there is a causal connection between two correlated variables, but the fact that these variables are correlated implies there might be a causal connection.

But my main social activity is just going to some friend's place and hanging out there. That's something they aren't restricting yet, you can still be outside in the evening too (unlike last year).
Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
It implies that there might be a causal connection, sure, but it doesn't imply a causal connection outright. So it's correct to say correlation doesn't imply causation.RefluxSemantic wrote:Correlation does imply causation. (Our definitions of "imply" may be different)
