Got my Moderna booster on Sunday. With AZ + BioNTech/Pfizer + Moderna, I now have a nice variety of stickers in my vaccination certificate. Gotta catch em all, I guess

Dont you need to wait 6 months before you can get a booster?
Or did yall get your second shot more than 6 months ago?

More than 6 months. We took the shots as soon as they became available.

Why would you imply I didn't take the shot as soon as it became available?

First shot: May 12thRefluxSemantic wrote:Dont you need to wait 6 months before you can get a booster?

Second shot: July 08th
Third shot: December 12th
So there were only 5 months between second and third. Currently, it is quite easy to get a booster shot in Germany. There are plenty of places that will offer one within seves or less days.

okay interesting. Our incompetent government claims a booster shot that early isn't effective or sth.duckzilla wrote:First shot: May 12thRefluxSemantic wrote:Dont you need to wait 6 months before you can get a booster?

Our government didn't want to give boosters sooner than 6 months for AZ even after solid information that proved the efficacy drops significantly after 4 months was available.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Well, it's debatable. The statement "a booster after 6 months is more effective" is true. The increase in protection after 6 months is larger simply because the original vaccination dropped in effectiveness even more. But from a "there's winter and a huge wave of infections" perspective, this is not clever reasoning. The increase in protection is well worth it and the vaccinations are actually available. There is little reason to be really strict about these 6 months.RefluxSemantic wrote:okay interesting. Our incompetent government claims a booster shot that early isn't effective or sth.

I heard that some Dutch people are traveling to Austria and Germany to get their booster. Thinking about it tbh.

feels like its time to get more data on what "vaccinated means", what vaccine people received, how long since their last dose, etc....fightinfrenchman wrote:

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Our government is speeding up the process so everyone 18+ should be able to get a booster within a month, but of course it's unlikely they will actually achieve that.XeeleeFlower wrote:I heard that some Dutch people are traveling to Austria and Germany to get their booster. Thinking about it tbh.
The booster will be my second shot, will the side effects be similar to other peoples normal second shot?
Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
There is no way to give a useful prediction here. Did you have J&J before or were you already infected with the virus?edeholland wrote:The booster will be my second shot, will the side effects be similar to other peoples normal second shot?
My younger brother and his wife both got infected with covid19 last in december last year. They got their first vaccination(BioNTech) in June and their second vaccination just this monday. Both had relatively nasty side effects with fever, head-aches and other pain. My older brother and his wife didn't get infected, got their first vaccination (J&J) in June and their second (Moderna) last week without much side effects. I myself got AZ in May, BioNTech in July and Moderna this Sunday and never had any nasty side effects.

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
@duckzilla every year you should take a different booster shot. Time for J&J as next dose.

I feel like the side effects are just completely different person to person. I was sick as shit, my dad had a sore arm.
