As far as I know the (super super rare) blood clots from AZ/J&J are a special kind of blood clots (that are super rare in general) so I dont think that family history of blood clots is generally very relevant.

We had a presentation from our countries main immunologists that was organized by my work place. What they said was that if you have had problems with blood clots, and then take the AZ vaccine, and have blood clot related symptoms afterwards, that they won't be able to tell what caused the latest blood clot problems and thus won't know the right treatment. The impression that I got was that the treatment to these problems can be opposite depending on the cause, thus if you give the wrong treatment you can worsen the condition and cause death.

If i'm not mistaken hysteria from AZ related blood clots started (at the beginning of 2021) because there was someone with previous blood clot problems that got the vaccine, experienced new blood clot related problems and then was treated wrongly and died. I can't be bothered to find sources, and I don't care to be entirely precise here. All i care about is following the instructions of the best professionals we have here.

So if you have the option it's better to avoid a situation where medical professionals can't diagnose you correctly. This only applies to those individuals (probably not family history) who have a history of blood clot problems (i.e. my grandmother, who didn't want to get vaccinated (her family physician wanted to send her to get the AZ knowing her history) until I helped her find where she could get the mrna one).

On the other hand if you don't have options it is probably less risky going with AZ as opposed to nothing, so there is that. In this case you should probably contact the specialists in your area to help you evaluate the situation individually.

Yeah it's normal to have fever after first shot on messenger vaccines and after second shot on mrna vaccines. I asked this question in the work meeting with immunologists and they confirmed so. Some paracetamol helped me and my friends.

My cousin cannot have fever... He has a heart condition and he will die if it surpasses 38.5 Ā°C
His father had the vaccine a week earlier and he reached 39Ā°C so I am praying now.
Taking any of this experimental vaccines is like shooting yourself on the foot because you fear being shot by another person.

point is there are plenty of people who simply can't afford to take the vaccine due to severe pre-existing health conditions, so everyone else has to step up

Imagine what would happen if he got covid lol. What if he gets covid from you because you're scared of a vaccine?

I also think we have the duty to take a tiny risk to ultimately save lives and go back to normal. Sorry to sound like a boomer here, but it's a big contrast between those young adults that sacrifised their lives for our freedom in WW2 and these morons that don't want to take a vaccine to get our freedom back.

And honestly, Jotunir has to worry about a particular disease that his family seems particularly vulnerable to.

He cannot get it from me because we had no close contact since the pandemic started, specifically to protect him.

It is funny that you see it that way. I think that injecting yourself with experimental vaccines is taking unnecessary risks.

Well my country is only providing Sinopharm, Sputnik V and AstraZeneca vaccines so... I prefer to wait. Prudence is a virtue that which helps us to discern wisely.

There is less risk in taking a covid vaccine than getting in a car or eating a hamburger

And a fact, even before you are born, even before your first eye pops or your fingers grow there are billion ways you can die. The thing is we are pretty strong. It is a fact excessive use of medicines makes us weaker in general.
