The body button of my mouse has this connecting plastic rod or "finger" that pushed on the switch. Eventually the switch put a dent in the plastic "finger" part so that when I pressed down the switch was not fully depressed, but instead in some half-way position.
Personally I haven't experienced the actual switch fail as of yet.

I started to take my mouse apart but in doing so the feet get fucked up and don't get put back together the same. New switches were $10, new mouse was $20. I said fuck it.harcha wrote: ↑27 Feb 2023, 12:56i had my 12+ year old razer abyssus double click. it wasn't the switch, it was the plastic peg that is connected to the mouse button which pushes on the switch which was worn out (had a switch-sized groove). i filed it flat and it worked again. i am still using this mouse as of now. kinda unbelievable how they still haven't solved simple issues like this, or maybe that's just an intended end-of-life mechanism

Skates can be replaced too. Ig it depends on how good/valuable that mouse was. If you're using 20 bucks mice, yea, it's not worth fixing it.
But there are also people who buy 100 bucks mice and get used to a particular shape or utilities and would rather replace its switches and skates for 20 bucks than buy a new one after it's out of warranty.

G203 was what I had, it's definitely not what I would call high end. Would have made more of an effort if the mouse had cost more money. I nearly got the same mouse but decided, isn't it stupid to buy the exact product that failed to begin with.

Cable folks installed 10Gbps-capable glass fiber in my flat. We'll probably get 10Gbps speed this year or next in my city, I heard it's gonna be like 12 bucks.
