Pack r up lads
Shin Jinseo wins.
This kid is completely trashing the field in Go, holding the top elo (currently 3833) by >100 points for 2 years in a row now. There's a 109 elo gap right now between him and the #2, and a 160 elo gap between him and #3. This means he would have a win rate of 70% against the #2, 75% against #3. His W/L in 2022 so far is 60-6. That's 91%. He's literally iamgrunting this shit, and not in some random RTS with a player base of 3 but in a highly competitive game with a player base of >50 million and kids being raised to play it and max out their capacity dropping out of school and shit LMAO
When SJS was 13 (he's now 22) he beat the GOAT, Lee Changho, who at the time was still a top 3 player. At the age where we were all learning about fractions ROFL
Imagine thinking Magnus Carlsen is smart when this guy exists LOL
Srsly tho how the fuck does this happen? How are the genetic differences between humans so big that this guy can win the genetic lottery to the extent of having a >90% win rate against other top pros in the hardest and most competitive game in the world?
Pic related it's Shin Jinseo

I bet he doesn't know Gurkhas regenerate HP when idle
Re: Pack r up lads
SJS is currently on a 20 win streak against other top pros, a common occurence for him to be fair, and is rocking an ELO of 3856 which is 168 above #2.
Just thought I'd update you guys on the dude that's winning at being human

yeah was thinking something similar about chess the other day. it's only a matter of time until an ultimate savant with a computer-like ability to calculate lines without much effort comes along and steam rolls everyone, with all the other skills learnt & honed. With the rise of engines, it makes sense humans will trend to playing more like engines

I think Fisher may have been close to this level of dominant in Chess. He was >100 ELO ahead at one point iirc. In Go players have been dominant for long periods of time before but not necessarily this unbeatable. We don't really know how far ahead Go Seigen was though.
Re: Pack r up lads
wouldn't it be more accurate he beat humanity
Re: Pack r up lads
Same thing I guess. Since games are basically the only worthwhile pursuit as a human, we might as well state he's winning at being human
Re: Pack r up lads
Shin Jinseo finally lost after a win streak of 30 games, having reached an elo of 3872 which is 187 points above #2. This is by far the highest elo ever reached in Go and also by far the biggest difference ever between the #1 and #2 players, a record I would wager will not be broken by anyone but SJS himself in the next few centuries at least. According to elo math he would have a 75% win rate against the #2, let alone the rest of the field.
