it really is depressing when europe takes so much pride in itself, yet they cant even make their own shows. did u notice what djigit posted? uk/north american (canada) shows... it just shows how mainland europe is a slave to usa media and news stations that they cant even use their own creativity (if they have any). EU should use the $89 billion greece package to develop their own entertainment industry. its incredible how the world can be so consumed by english speaking shows, news/media, movies, and the english language itself
Best TV shows
was i referring to those decades? of course not since all of the shows/movies mentioned r from usa origin. even the movie cannibal holocaust used english speaking actors while being directed by an italian director.

The Americans (pure gem as GS would say).
Chosen (each episode lasts about 20min. You can't be bored).
Fear the Walking Dead (Walking Dead's prequel. Not bad at all).
edit : exactly 2 months after my previous post

The Strain. I've only watched the season one so far and it's good enough.

I only like Downton Abbey, Hannibal, Doc Martin, and sometimes Project Runway. Well, those are the ones that are still being made, at least.

from dusk till dawn, orange is the new black, daredevil, scream (at least shows as netflix), thekilling (great seasons 1-2, good season 3 but all amc produced, season4 was made by netflix and sucked), hemlock grove - maybe i forgot something
From each of these shows I have at least seen 2-3 episodes. I also peeked into HouseOfCards (haven't watched more because I want to give it a serious try just due to all the critical praise), however, I did not particularly like what I saw there.
How can anyone not like Daredevil? That's just crazy to me

mARKZman wrote:I already find it ridiculous how there is Lady Justice in the intro. Such an obvious, moronic and childish reference to the fact that darevil is blind and therefore it is supposed to be this "deep" analogy? Also the idiotic name of the town: Hell's Kitchen. Wow. And additionally for the kitchen of hell that town is looking pretty fuckin' normal.
And besides that, no, I just don't think it is a good show in general.
To be fair though I don't know the source material but I doubt it has much potential.
Knowing you are arkz it's hard to tell if you're trolling or just a dumbo/goober

If a town is named Hell's Kitchen I expect something else, something more dark, more dystopic, as simple as that.
I'm not really into comics but from what gets to the mainstream Marvel simply is the infantile, dumb brother of DC. If you compare Gotham and Hell's Kitchen for example: Which town has the better narrative? The better looks? (Even in the gotham tv show, the set design is much better than daredevil.)
Look at all the marvel movies. It's mainly a matter of the source material. With daredvil netflix seemingly tried to polish up some childish superhero-story into an adult neo-noir crime. Well, it failed. How can you not find it ridiculous when daredevil is sitting alone with that girl in her flat and then tells her in an incredibly cheesy way something about her anatomy (if memory serves right) because he "knows" due to his superpowers?
Or this idiotic fighting scene with no cut, no real camera movement for how long? 2 minutes? Well, there is a reason why it is unusual: Cuz it sucks. The whole scene is ridiculously pretentious.
And, yes, that reference with Lady Justice itself maybe wouldn't be a problem. But with its whole tone it perfectly fits into the picture of a tv show based on a childish comic that wants to be more than it actually is.
And again: Just look at the substance of the story. I've watched Gotham and even though there are many things to criticize just the whole world of Gotham with all it's characters, the narrative of the city makes it so much more interesting and relevant than Daredevil.
To be honest that sounds a bit harsh now. I'd say Daredevil still is watchable for fans or if one likes the style but it certainly is nothing special.
I'm going to make a big mistake and assume for a moment that you aren't just trolling: you know Hell's Kitchen is a real place, right?
