Take the stoner rock boomer pill
and join their cosmic church that opens the inner eye towards whatever.

Memes aside, it's a decent song, I keep coming back to it for some reason.

When I first listened to this like 2 yrs ago, I didn't really get it.
I was like "it's brutalism, it's the 2010s Black Flag, it's supposed to be raw shouted chants".
Even until recently I thought this is not music, it's anger management.
But that's not the point, because nothing is pure music anymore, unless you want to listen to classical mummies.
So, I guess I'm catching up, or the world has changed in the meantime.
Probably the best live band right now.

why get caught up on arbitrary definitions and labels. Use effectiveness as a heuristic. It's fluid; it's deconstructing a thing into just "does it work?" The song works, whether it's "music" or not, who cares. If it's intentionally emotionally effective, it's good art.

Most of these guys' songs are a complete bore. I just found one that somewhat resembles a memorable song.

Thank God I didn’t go to school
Thank God I didn’t end up
Just like you

Some kind of psychopath
Just like you
Tha's rite. I dodged a bullet right there by not doing a PhD. I could have ended up literal Hitler.

@harcha
Yeh. Also Idles has one that ends in a shopping centre

Might be that the lockdown is making bands focus on the most ordinary places you could show in a video, where there's basically nothing special to show.

I like this track because it has nothing special. Just a chill synth and a beat.

I wasn't too enthusiastic about Steven Wilson's new musical style and "we live in a society" lyrical themes but it's started to grow on me. Back before life was reptile I had plans to see one of his shows touring for this album in Europe, probably going to the Amsterdam show and dragging Xeeleeflower and Goodspeed with me.

Steven Wilson - Eminent Sleaze

Steven Wilson - King Ghost

Anyway, in the absence of prog rock Steven Wilson, there's plenty of discount Porcupine Tree still around, and I don't mean that in a bad way:

Lunatic Soul - The Passage

The Pineapple Thief - Demons

Also some other stuff:

Mamiffer - So That The Heart May Be Known [ambient/folk]

Unexpect - The Quantum Symphony [avant-garde metal]

Harakiri for the Sky - I, Pallbearer [post-black metal]

Sojourner - The Deluge [atmospheric black metal]

ShibayanRecords - 深紅の瞳 [weeb stuff]

Yeah that's why I said it was my plan from before life was reptile. Now that it is, the future is postponed.

It's more than postponed, it's cancelled, Michael Richards style
