I have say that a Brexit under a Boris government would be a disaster of enormous proportions. I think May would have been much better, but she is gone now.

Its the same miracle as you have in USA, with the corporate news, owned by a handful of ppl, only making news that make the corporations that buy adds, REALLY happy
In UK, most of the media is owned by ONE person though.

No, this thread is way past arguments and I don't feel encouraged to take it more seriously by conspiracy theories

Most important difference to May's deal: UK will leave while Northern Ireland will stay in the EU customs union (although being “part of the customs territory of the United Kingdom”, which is meaningless). That means that there will be an economic border between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.

First-past-the-post voting did it again!

@duckzilla Wasn't that border considered a "red line" that was unacceptable?

Yes. That's the entire problem.

With the DUP out of the picture and such a comfortable majority in Commons, Tories have free reign to agree to any arrangement with Ireland/the EU, without being held hostage to their hardline Eurosceptic wing or the DUP.

Australian government rejects visa-free deal with UK
The Morrison government has rejected a post-Brexit trade agreement which included visa-free work and travel between Australia and the United Kingdom.

Trade Minister Simon Birmingham said changes to work rights would be proposed and accepted on both sides but not full free movement.

The government argues it would cause an exodus of highly trained workers to the UK and an influx of unskilled British workers to Sydney and Melbourne.

So much for that post-Brexit Anglo union. Once reality starts kicking in, there are no friends, only interests. :geek:

“We’re working up a plan so people can bung a bob for a Big Ben bong, because there are some people who want to,” Mr Johnson told the BBC. “All that is expensive, so we’re looking at whether the public can fund it.”

Oh yeah, Brexit is still not done. I recently heards something confusing about UK leaving at the end of January but also about necessary discussions to determine the relation between EU/UK to allow UK to leave by the end of the year. Quite opaque to me.

When can I expect UK finally to leave such that I can enjoy total German supremacy over the continent with Empress Ursula I. as our sovereign? Do we need to wait for further negotiations between BoJo and the european deep state?
