Best internet connection ever?
Hi guys what continent/nation has got the best Internet connection?
Best internet connection ever?
Google fiber in the United states. That's just I guess though, I actually have no idea
Edit: that's too vague to really answer. It's like asking what's the best car. Certain part of a country will have slower Internet then other parts of a different country even though the first country is faster on average. Also there are so many providers the question is just to hard to answer

I got 10mpbs download and 3mbps upload with FTTH (since a few weeks ago, before that I had 3mbps) for roughly 20USD/month. And I'm still unhappy tho because it's unstable as fuck.

Because it makes file transfer over the internet very easy. If you aren''t home often like me it really helps if you can leave a server powered on at home which contains anything you might need outside and be able to download everything on it within minutes or even teamviewer to it. My surface pro which I bring everywhere has 128gb of space on it while at home I have 10 TB total.drlegend wrote:Why would anyone need a speed higher than a few hundred KB per second anyway? At my campus in Sweden people have access to 1 gbit/s. However routers today are not often capable to handle 1 gbit/s, hence they more often get about 450-500 mbit/s.
Check the attachment, 873 mbit/s download, 209 mbit/s upload.

I have 10 mb download, which is plenty, but a disappointing 0.7 mb upload. I wish I had more so I could potentially stream some games.

Meh, I'm just fine with 2 Mbps connection (around 150-200 kb/s on download)
Anyway my router doesn't allow me to port forward. Contacted isp, they doing nothing.

I disagree. A few hunderd KBps is enough if you only use the internet for ocassionally browsing the web.drlegend wrote:Why would anyone need a speed higher than a few hundred KB per second anyway? Waiting 23 minutes instead of 63 minutes to download the biggest games?
But if you like watching videos, streams, gaming, downloading, uploading data (because uploading is usually slower than downloading), and use other devices in parallel - you would need a few mbps - for all purposes you should need somewhere between 2 and 5 mbps, perhaps even more. I''d say anything beyond 10mbps should be ridiculous on a personal level though, at least for the average Chuck.
