I hate the fact that I don't read any more
But it's so damn time consuming. How many books do you read a month @frycookofdoom?

Whenever I try to read a book I get so caught up in it that I lose touch with real life. It tends to be kinda excessive, which in the end takes away some if the joy for me.
Good books
I pay 15$ a month for an app called audible (only because I haven''t found it easy to pirate audio books) and have basically replaced listening to music with listening to a book on tape while I''m doing mindless things like mowing the lawn, driving etc. It''s essentially the same thing as reading, but much easier.calmyourtits wrote:I hate the fact that I don''t read any more

I won't read books unless I'm a school boy. Oh fak, I'm still a school boy.

Das Kapital by Karl Marx with the introduction by @drlegend
Jenseits von Gut und B?se by Friedrich Nietzsche
Jenseits von Gut und B?se by Friedrich Nietzsche
Good books
It's large and there is one chapter on local patois that is somewhat boring but an excellent book is Les Mis?rables .
Good books
In no particular order, I would highly recommend these books (5/5 stars in my opinion)
Russian:
Brothers Karamazov
Anna Karenina
Crime &' Punishment (Not too long and, if you read one Doestoevsky book, this should be it)
Fathers and Sons
Demons (If you read, make sure you read a version that contains the infamously censored chapter)
American:
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Farewell to Arms
Mockingbird/Watchman
Animal Farm (Really quick and awesome if you know the history of the era well)
Great Gatsby
British:
Tale of Two Cities
Robinson Crusoe (It''s not a page turner, but somehow you find yourself blazing through it)
Pride and Prejuidice (give it a chance haha)
To a lesser extent: Oliver Twist and Great Expectations
Biographies/History:
Autobiography of Malcolm X
Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
People''s History of the United States (Very liberal/left view on history, but factually correct...nice perspective to see. It talks exclusively about who suffered in history during time most would consider universally auspicious)
Old Regime and French Revolution (Definitive Enlightenment Era History imo, the birth of modern western Europe)
Philosophy/Other:
Meditations by Aurelius (Absolute must read)
Candide
Rheotric by Aristotle
Mein Kamph (Yes, it actually shows you how easily a shitty philosophy ground on such illogic can gain such momentum)
Siddartha
Pretty big list, but these are the books I have read in the past one and a half years that I would unquestionably recommend and did not regret spending time reading.
EDIT: One for Doctor Legend: Common Sense by Thomas Payne
