Most of Africa has no Internet, or political problems that would preclude using it for someone doing something so frivolous as gaming. I''ve seen only two posters from Africa in the past ten years. One was a guy from Egypt who was trying to keep a computer working in the heat and sand and another was a systems admin from South Africa. Looking up the stats shows that only 9% of Internet users are from Africa, even though that continent holds a billion people.

Edit: See the charts below for a pictorial representation of my statement.

Original statement

Nice misquote. Here, let me present my statement in pictures for you to better understand.

Well, I've never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music

Well, I've never been to England
But I kinda like the Beatles

Well, I've never been to heaven
But I've been to Oklahoma

In Oklahoma, not Arizona
What does it matter?

Sorry, in addition to being mentally retarded, I also happen to be color-blind. Itll take more than some vague graphs and illustrations to convince me of your specious views.

Well, if 9% of people on the internet are from Africa it shouldn't be too hard to find one. Maybe most people don't feel the need to mention whether or not they are from Africa in any given post.

I'll mention that I am, in fact, not from Africa as is, apparently, tradition.

Another reason why people from Africa may not game a lot online is evidenced from the bandwidth that the guy from South Africa reported. At his workplace he was getting 1.08 Mbps download speeds and at his home he was getting speeds of only 384 kbps.

This is probably the #1 reason to be glad you don't live in Africa.

9% sounds like a lot for Africa.
I would say its about 1% - and could be less.

Speaking of Africa, when I was in graduate school I got a call from there. I thought someone was just playing a joke on me when they said that Richard Leaky was on the phone, but it turned out that he'd heard of a presentation I'd given on database management and wanted to know if he could send his assistant down from the US college she was attending to examine our system. Years later, I was up in Chicago visiting the Field Museum with my old undergraduate roommate, who was from that area. I noticed a display about Olduvai Gorge and told him this anecdote. He asked me the woman's name as his wife's college roommate had been from Kenya too. When I told him her name he said, "That was my wife's college roommate!"

Northen Africa, South africa, Kenia and some other countries are pretty well developed. Not sure if 9% is like facebook data, or overall internet data.

Internet penetration in Africa is growing more than that of any other continent, which makes sense as the other continents are mostly "developed" whereas Africa is still mostly "undeveloped."
