fightinfrenchman wrote: Well it isn't exactly true that the U.S. economy recovered solely because of WW2. The New Deal did help although obviously producing for the war sped up the recovery.
Yeah, not only because of, but realistically economists agreed the bulk of recovery was due to getting involved in WW2.

They had a non-agression pact prior to the German invasion. Russia would not invade Germany any time soon because they were in the middle of a military reorganisation. Perhaps a full alliance was out of the picture, but war between them was far from inevitable.

It was absolutely inevitable. Hitler was always planning on invading and Stalin knew it was coming, he was just in denial about when. He thought they had 10 years, or at least until Germany knocked Britain out of the war. But both sides knew it was a temporary truce.

In this sense it is a meaningless statement, it was inevitable only because it happened, pretty much. There was no DIRECT cause for war at the time of the German invasion, in that sense, the war was not inevitable at that moment. It could easily have been postponed for a decade as you said, if not for Hitler's personal aversion and paranoia.

You are calling out others for having poor English skills, so I expect nothing less than perfect English from you (He who is without blame cast the first stone). If you can not live up to these expectations, it's on you. I think I am being very reasonable here. Perhaps if you take back your ignorant statements, I will reconsider.
What ignorant statements?
Euro trash, to start with.
Using euro trash isn't ignorant so much as it is offensive...and it was used on the same basis you reduce americans to ignorant masses. But you see however I'm somebody who can get past a crass choice of diction and not shut down. Your argumentative style is weak as you throw up these barriers to engagement with the other side.

Yes, I agree it could have been postponed for years, but that doesn't refute the fact that it was going to happen. The reason they signed a non-aggression pact was to temporarily avoid it. Why would you sign a "non-agression" pact with a state that you have no tension with?

Its intent may have been offensive, but its content is ignorant. If I reduced Americans to ignorant masses, then I did this solely in response to your OP. I already provided the argument for not replying to that post, I have yet to see you form a response to it. You are also falsely assuming that I want a debate, I am merely demolishing you at your own game.

Ok, I misunderstood, I thought you meant it was inevitably going to happen as it happened.
The yanks are usually ok when they actually turn up for a war. Usually, us British have to keep Jerry occupied for a few years while we wait for their testicles to germinate.

Your response to the OP distilled was that you won't respond to it because you see it as too stupid. I've been trying to get you to respond the entire time..
You are by no means "demolishing" me btw

we like fps because it reminds us of our daily lives. Due to our lax gun laws we often find ourselves quickscoping
Too bad that the NA scene is also pretty bad at the only competitive FPS (CS:GO)

I prefer the Call of Duty series myself but to each their own.

My response was not to your OP, my response was to a post full of language errors, while you called out others in the OP for having bad mastery of the English language. Apparantly, your comprehension of English is so bad, that you don't even understand this. Subsequently, you fail to understand you are getting demolished. Such is the nature of ignorance, it can be blissful.

If your addressing me, now shouldn't be the time I listen to him as he's currently being narrow minded.
It's disputable wether or not I am being narrow minded, what is undisputable however, is that once again you have produced a post full of errors. Why so much broken English?

It's far from broken English and posts like Marco's for example. I type on mobile mostly so there's going to be errors.

Your instead of you're is not a typo. That's just broken English. Sorry dude. Also, English is not Marco's first language. It apparently is yours, so shame on you. You are being corrected by a Dutch guy as well, lord... Powerless Washington is turning in his grave. Let this be a lesson for you, next time when you are trying to be a dick about something and call others out on their actions, you shouldn't make the same mistakes as well. Don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house or something like that...

It's obvious what is meant. What's amusing is that you think pointing out these things supports your (nonexistent) point. It doesn't, and is just a lame attempt to divert discussion.

George Washington helped found the most powerful nation in the history of the world. He still has the highest rank in the military, "General of the Armies."
