Age of mythology: tale of the dragon expansion released!!!
This expansion adds a new facti Po n of mythology: Chinsse. I like the gardens cause they remind me of shrines and war salamander a r cool. What do you guys think of the expansion? I know I am buying it. (Tried it at friends place)

Personally i've always been a huge fan of aom and the expansion looks great. The best part imo is the new balance changes that are coming with it such as the nerfs to zeus, oranos and egypt and buffs to norse. China looking a bit too op atm though (like all expansion civs ever lol)
Re: Age of mythology: tale of the dragon expansion released!!!
Be careful, from what I gathered on the aom subreddit it seems to be quite filled with bugs and Forgotten Empires are preparing a response why they rushed the game release.

Yea it is indeed quite buggy although most of them don't really affect online play too much.
Re: Age of mythology: tale of the dragon expansion released!!!
The bugs are affect online play more then 50% of the game went oos and the new changelog is just bullshit

Yea the fact that you can't play team without it going oos is pretty brutal, but how is the new changelog bullshit? Maybe isis didn't get nerfed enough but apart from that the changes look great.

The fact that Chinese is too strong is not an issue with the changelog, rather that when you design a new civ it's hard to balance so they make it too strong so that people play it. The physician is not op at a high level because units need to be still to heal but a good player will always be using their units

I never really played much aom, with the result that messages like these just make me angry that aoe3 doesnt even get anti moesbar support...

Maybe this could cheer you up a bit. Aoe3 runs on basically on the same engine as aom, just a bit updated. The fact that they're working on aom means they're getting familiar with a codebase very similar to ours and could make future patches for aoe3 more likely.
Re: Age of mythology: tale of the dragon expansion released!!!
is aom great game ? never really tried it... can anyone compare it to aoe 2 ? (p.s. aoe2 is just insane actually)

If it's an expansion pack with only one extra civ, then probably they made no change to the game engine.
The lag issues might be caused by them trying to load game assets (textures, 3D models, sounds) which are too big for the content pipelines that were programmed for this game. So differences in content loading speeds for different peers in the same connection may lead to OOS.

Yea they fixed the lag problems from aomee so I'm sure they can fix the bugs in this
Re: Age of mythology: tale of the dragon expansion released!!!
Why did they rush the release though? I remember last year they said early march as release...

As long as the game works they won't patch it anymore
