@iNcog The majority of vegans do NOT believe that they are superior to meat eaters or better human beings. It's obvious that they do not do so because the majority was consuming meat before turning vegans. What vegans are actually saying is that their diet is supperior, for the reason I stated above. Of course there are some retarded vegans like there are plenty of them in any other group and people keep focusing on them to show the world how "bad" vegans are.

You are once again incorrect. A vegan diet is declining the risk of cardiovascular diseases, cardiometabolic risk factors, some cancers and total mortality. It also improves your mental health and psychology. Sources: http://www.nber.org/papers/w18469 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24871675
Next time you post something consider linking the source and not writing nonsense you just came up with.

The thing I hate most is vegan and vegetarian are considered dietary requirements, when they are just dietary inconviences for all involved, I'm a celiac and when ever I'm putting down what to eat at meal times, the only options are vegetarian and vegan.

The light went out at age 16-17.

Next time you post something consider linking the source and not writing nonsense you just came up with.

You likely only read the abstract, as many people googling information on the internet do. But perhaps a quick read of the article also points out some negative issues associated with veganism.

"Vegans may have a greater challenge in meeting the nutritional adequacy for vitamin B12, protein, and calcium compared to lacto-ovo-vegetarians and meat-eaters."

" In the EPIC-Oxford study [67], vegans had 30% higher fracture rates than meat-eaters."

Obviously every type of diet has its benefits.

One of the biggest issues with studies such as these begin with is the causation vs correlation debate. Obviously individuals on a vegan/vegetarian diet are more health conscious in general and pay closer attention of what they put into their bodies. That likely means that these diets correlate with, but do not necessarily cause, lower risk of diseases, cancers, and death. One can easily maintain a diet that contains meat with minimal risk of obtaining heart diseases, and cancers.

Just some food for thought.

you likely did not read my previous post where I explain why that is incorrect giving some links too.
also where is that reference on vegans? I did not see that and looking back to the article there isn't anywhere?

Because as I said before you are only reading the abstract. That is equivalent to reading the back of a book, and telling people that you read the book. These quotes are from the scientific article that you posted the abstract of. Just take a look in the discussion.

Did you even read the whole article? And what I said before?
Vegans may have a greater challenge in meeting the nutritional adequacy for vitamin B12, protein, and calcium compared to lacto-ovo-vegetarians and meat-eaters. Thus, the potential adverse effects of vegan diets deserve consideration. In the EPIC-Oxford study , vegans had 30% higher fracture rates than meat-eaters. However, when adjusted for calcium intake, vegans no longer had higher fracture rate. Other studies found similar results. In a review, Dunham et al. reported higher rates of vitamin B12 deficiency among vegans compared with other vegetarians. Vitamin B12 deficiency may increase CVD risk factors, and is associated for a wide range of neurological disorders. In addition, for those following a vegan diet, optimizing intakes of n-3 fatty acids is highly recommended . Nevertheless, vegans can avoid nutritional inadequacy with appropriate food choices.
Fracture risk is pretty similar to vegans and meat eaters http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17299475

Which exactly feeds into the other point I made earlier. Vegans and vegetarians are more conscious about what is put into their bodies, as is anyone with a specific diet. This likely has more to do with the disease and cancer production than the diet itself.
